2013 opening days.

Well Sunday was opening day for some things in some zones. 
I was up in zone 510 and set out some goose decoys on the in-laws farm near Hondo lake to see if we could wack some geese.  A few sand-hill crains flying around and very few geese that did not come near us at all.  Nice to get out and watch the sun rise and chat with my son in a hunting blind though.

It was opening rifle season for deer across the Athab. river but we did not go after them.

Anyone else out on "opening day"?

I just checked with my iHunter app on my phone and in zone 510 deer opens on sept.first.

Ok...so on page 58 of the 2013 Alberta hunting regs it says..sept.first but that is for arcery only..Nov.1 for general season.

Hmmm.....there seems to be a discrepancy here.

We were hunting birds in 510 which opened Sept. 1  and across the Athab. river in 511 it opened for deer as well as birds on the 1st. of Sept.

Yes thats correct Sonny some WMU's open Sept 1 for deer, I hunt the 300's so Sept 17 on most the 300 series.
