Not much of a wish list for me.. Really I hope this economy pics up some,, people are really hurting and I don't like to see it. Whether they are from the left coast, east coast or from home I hate to see it. So here's to $60.00 oil by mid summer. We don't need it to be $100 again just a happy medium would be great.

Not sure if you were lurking last summer sonny but I picked up a big boy for our youngest boys grad present this past summer,, he loves it. He has put a whack of rounds through it already lol.. Not cheap shells,, but a fun gun.

I was listening to talk radio the other night at work and some guy predicted that oil would go down to $20 per bbl in 2016...YIKES...I sure hope he is wrong and yes you are correct,$60 - $80 range would be good, not only for Alberta but for the entire country.

And no I didn't see the big boy but man o man are they ever a pretty rifle.. 8)

(enter a drool smilie here)  lol

I will echo the same sentiments about wishing the economy would turn around.
I had a conversation with my landlord recently who owns a reality company and has many rental property's .apparently I am his only tenant who is still employed.
I think it's even way worse out there then they are letting on at this point.
Made me have some appreciation for my job even though I despise it.

On a selfish note my wish is to get a couple weeks in the bush this fall and perhaps even make it out to the hard water a time or two this winter.

If you were a r.c.m.p member involved with high river you are a disgrace to the uniform and a traitor to the citizens of this country.

Top of my list is health & happiness for all my friends. My list of outdoor activities  includes catching a sturgeon. The trip is booked for the end of August on the Fraser. I also want to catch a golden trout. Although I've hunted elk for years & called them in for friends I've yet to get my own, Maybe this year

Fraser River Sturgeon,, yup a must do.

I have caught some very nice sturgeon on the south Sask when we were down in Medicone Hat for a couple years. It wasn't uncommon to get into some 5' fish. I am not sure if you have caught a sturgeon yet but let me tell you this,, pound for pound they are the strongest fish we have in Canada by far. Relentless fighters that just won't tire.

It is also in the near future for me to get on the Fraser and try for some of their giants,, would love to hook into a 10' fish.

Nope haven't caught a sturgeon yet but looking forward to it very much we're staying at Rivers Edge cabins & there is a chance we may be able to catch salmon also.

Agree with everyone on the economy especially the oil patch.  I am also planning to spend some time with my kids chasing elk next fall, i wont be distracted by a moose draw or Bison draw so should be dedicated to helping them enjoy the wilderness.  We are headed to Florida for reading week so I am going to spend a day with them in the Gulf of mexico doing some reef and shore fishing.  Should be a blast.

for personal selfish stuff I am looking to book a Coues Deer hunt in Mexico next January.

My wishlist goes something like this:

  • Trip to BC for about a week at Easter.  Look at more properties.
  • Actually find some morels this spring. Hope conditions are favorable.
  • Get the moose draw and the moose
  • Buy a high end PCP air rifle.  Getting into air-gunning more and more each year now. Looking at a Hatsan BT65 RB-W in .25 cal.

I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

My wish list:

- Find the cash to add to my leaver gun collection.
- Explore the back country all summer on a horse. (pay back time for feeding their fat ass all winter.)
-  Get my moose draw, ( but more important my girls get theirs and get their moose)
- get my elk
- get my spring bear.
- And hope to see the job market change for a few family members.

Been fishing for big game fish for the last few years have caught a sail fish and a blue marlin.  This year I should be going after tarpon.
Currently flying 3 flags.
If I had to do it all over again at turning 18 I should have got on an airplane gone to Kona Hawaii and stood on the dock every day until being hired on.

Oh and world peace…

Sounds like a heck of a plan. You will have to keep us posted as to your progress on it Mike. Especially interested on how your quest for that Tyee goes.

It may be a little ambitious, Id settle for just one of those.  The steelhead will be tough now seeing as Im taking over as a lead on a pipeline from fort mackay to Edmonton instead of the one going to the west coast.  Thankfully I will be on the Edmonton end lol.  24 on 4 off for the next 1.5 years sucks but im not going to complain with the way the economy is right now.

My wish list for this year,
I fished the bull river a couple times last summer and really enjoyed it so at least twice this year along with a couple of lakes close to there. Catch a bully over ten lbs. Gerard rainbow out of Summit Lake. For hunting my gal and I should have priority enough for another antelope hunt. She is looking for her second speed goat and its her favorite hunt! I would sure like a nice ram this year for myself as I have tried many times but have not pulled the trigger yet as they say. The number 1 hope for me would be that sweet pea gets a 6x6 Elk. I should look at this post at the end of November and put up some pics of our bounty!  Or maybe it will be some nice scenery shots and you will know we just tried hard..... :'(

Yes the rams a stretch but the rest is pretty doable.   And hey-it's a wishlist! lol
Summit lake is close by but I don't bother with it much as I am more of a river guy. I have seen some big fish from out of there and I think I should stop and cast a few chironomids out as they are supposed to work well there. Bull river is not to far and it is a beautiful area especially on the top side of the dam. Really rugged fast river with lots of Cutts in it. Sweet pea has not got a big Elk before and it sure isn't easy but as they say the best things in life never are. I did get a non trophy sheep this fall and it has been great eating but.....it aint a cranker ram and I would like one in my life. I will make a point of putting up some pics at the end of hunting season..... Hope your year is great and you and the family get what makes you smile... I did meet you once in Wholesale sports in Lethbridge when you lived down south. I was shopping for some ice fishing gear and you were offering some good advice that I did use. If I remember correctly your bro in law "Tony" owned Grist haven lodge or still does. I used to have an airplane when i was in my early twenties(early eighties) and fished there and area often in the winter.
