Most of us realized that a long time ago about that place,, she's a shit show alright.

Lots of good people over there it's just ran like a dictatorship for the sole purpose of promoting the owners business. People don't realize they are promoting another mans industry through their experiences and stories all the while never step out of line or mention anything outside the box that their line of thinking falls into or your hacked. I wish people would realize how this site is ran and get more involved.

Paul started this place solely because of that. He wanted a place where for the most part is policed by the members. If you have a different opinion good we all want to hear it. If you think something is being done wrong in politics, the outdoors don't be scared to voice it. About the only thing that isn't tolerated is personal attacks or badgering of other members. So far for the most part it has worked there have been I beleive 3 people that had to be removed do to the fact they were just here to make this site a bad place and to badger people. It didn't take long for them to be removed and the peace restored.

Not to condone the  AO inc behaviour but the main man , he has to be between
A rock and a hard place . I would imagine he gets some pretty fat cheques from the
Prov. Govt .....so bashing the Dippers is strictly ver  Boten . If he ok d the bashing that was
Going on after the election that would be like peeing in your own cash register .
The guy who resigned today Airborndeerhunter a very smart well written individual
Will be missed . 60,000 members ,feeling fat and sassy , believing your own BS .
That forum is now overrun with Dipper LibtardEdmonton Union Rats . The NDP is like having the
KGB , they will reach out and touch you if they can . I don't believe they can survive at the
Current level with just the hunting and fishing forums . When traffic starts going the other
Way so will the sponsors . In this economy the sponsors and the rediculous charges are
          Likely to drop anyway .
What is interesting is that I have gotten more reliable info about hunting in Alberta from
Members here than 11 years over there . Of course I did have quite a few timeouts .lol
                I hope I haven't offended  anyone .

It's a choice they have made over there. I am also a member of the Edmonton Eskimos forum and beleive me there are a lot of dipper supporters over there but there are just as many that aren't. Politics is discussed there openly and all views shared openly with no recource.  The owner and the mods over on AO are dipper supporters and are forcing that agenda it's obvious.  A business like his thrives under government support. He is anti big oil, anti big mining anti all big business he is the poster child for a socialist state. Edmonton is definitely a union town but there are plenty right wingers there as well.

I am posting this message to get some facts in order.

I understand the owner of the AO site also publishes the the Alberta Hunting and Fishing Regulations?

Has anyone enquired or submitted a request under the Freedom of Information Act to the Alberta Government to the amount of funds that AO known as the Alberta Outdoorsman is reimbursed for such publications and the reimbursements from advertising?

If you want info about A.O. then maybe you should go to A.O.

Don't you think so Mr. Beenhereforfouryearswithonepost??  ::)

Ya lets gets some facts straight . I doubt very much that the good people
On the AS care what the principles at AO are doing with their forum .
I'm on both but I'm pretty sure that will be short lived . There have been
Posts on both forums hinting at why there is strong censorship on AO
regarding derogatory comments about the current regime , AO sponsors ,
And various other subjects . There is no doubt that those threads usually
Derail into irrational pissing contests . The reason for the censorship given ,is
That the sponsors are not happy with the bickering and the content .
Here's where you take a "grain of salt " . I have lived under two communist
Regimes in western Canada , I know how Dippers think and operate .
There is also a very strong leftist membership on AO , they all materialized
And came out of the proverbial closet at the same time . They suffer from the
Same character flaw that leftys world wide suffer from , they absolutely believe
Their own bullshit and are very , very sensitive to any kind of criticism .
I'm sure in those two weeks after the election where Rachel was an AO
Punching Bag , the party spies reported to the party and likely they reached
Out and reminded said owner of his political and monetary responsibilities ..

On paper it would be nice to be all inclusive, but in reality ,I see a geographic
Division occuring on AO . The north is dipper country  and the south belongs
To the Cons . There are some exceptions but that's the way it's shaping up

It would be nice to have a little more Imput on here but also with numbers
Comes derision . AO has never been about the resources it's always been
About the money ,first and foremost .  The camaderie and support between
Members has nearly dissapeared.  The good news is ,it is a blueprint on what
Not to do.  I misspoke on here the other Day ihave been on and off there since 06 ,
9 years , I seen the good , the bad ,and the ugly . I believe this forum will grow
I am going to give it my full support . I had an idea , we could all chip in and
Take out an adv . On AO ......for this forum .    ::)
                         That's my .04 cents ..

Well all I have to say is I like this site so far, and hope the members on here stick together on one front, and hold on to what is in our hearts. Hunting, fishing, outdoors and guns. I am a red neck, cowboy Albert'in,  and believe in more freedom and less government, so you know what camp I'm from. I think if we all keep that in our minds, who cares what going on in the next town. But passion is a good thing, and it's good sometimes to clear you mind.

A few years ago, I did ask ESRD when the contract was over for editing and supplying the regs. They did give me an answer, but I have forgotten. I did not ask what the contract was worth. So, if you need to know, contact them. Or, whatever they are called now.

I used to be greylynx on AO, and one day I was removed for my anxiety about the NDP support had on their forum.

What bothers me is the NDP mindset from AO will be used to influence NDP law making bills that are contrary to the majority of gun owners, hunters and fisherman in Alberta. You never see the  Wildrose  monitor sticking up for us conservative thinking members.

Another item of interest  is our taxes pay for AO's existence through their reimbursement of publishing the fish and game regulations. Any contradiction with the NDP by AO could result in a new tender for publication being put out. I smell a conflict of interest with the real outdoors people of Alberta and AO.

My initial query was to find out how much AO is reimbursed for the publication of government documents.

I will be working on this issue.

P.S. Mr. Axeman or Mr. moderator, could you please change my call sign to greylynx. Simonlockwood is my name on Shotgun Sports in the U.S.

It's good to see the new members on board here and yes you guys are right, this is a pretty cool little site.

Most of us have been on here a long time now and kind of went through our AO bashing a while ago so it's kind of out of our systems. So if some don't join in forgive them cause they have moved on so to speak. This site is about this site and we like to try and maintain that.

But we do understand the freedom one feels after moving on from that place so for those that still have the anguish built up, carry on lol..

Good to have you on board greylynx.

Oh, and welcome to Banned Camp!

I think you will find sir that most of us here still have valid accounts at AO ...We just choose to not go there because of troublemakers like you.

Have a nice day.. :)
