Well we knew it was coming, don't like it but it could be worse.

Like that there will not be a PST.

Don't like 4 cent per litre increase in fuel tax because that will cause all goods to go up in price. >:(

Nailing the guy that pays taxes out the yang already and the abusers of our systems still don't pay anything,, everything remains free for them while the guy that works hard to earn more and make a better life for his family pays even more..

F'n big companies get no increase just the worker,, getting sick of this already.. They could raise their taxes by a measly 1% and still bring in more than nailing the public what they are and if any large company can't afford an extra 1% they probly shouldn't be in business anyways.

These companies make hundreds of billions steeling our resources from under our feet and we get stuck footing the bill to cover this provinces needs.. Damn I am pissed off. I have a string of profanities on the end of my tongue but I will hold it..

The part that gets my anger up is how the media has fallen for the PC spin on the current fiscal situation in this province.  All we hear is "Alberta needs a tough budget because of collapsed oil prices".  No, reality is the province is in financial trouble from many years of gross mismanagement by the PC party.  The Heritage Trust Fund was supposed to be our rainy day fund for downturn times like these.  It was raped and pillaged by the party since Klein days.  Prentice has managed to successfully to deflect this blame away from the party.  If he really was looking to the future and changing the way the PC party manages taxes and resource revenue, I might get behind him.  I have not been sold on that yet and I don't trust him a bit.  Remember, he appointed Stephen Mandel to the biggest ministry, Health Care.  Mandel, in my mind, is the biggest criminal in Alberta today.

I am surprised that they left corporate taxes and royalties completely off the table.  Even for political optics, they should have thrown out a bone on that front.  That will piss off the working Joe.  All of the burdon is on the average working Albertan.  There is no opposition, so it is not political suicide.  The opposition imploded, they were/are morons.   The PC's can govern as they please.  I doubt we will see a snap election call., depends if Prentice feels oil prices will recover or not in the next year.

Reminds me of the standard trdo1 tax and spend liberal budget.

1.  Pander to unions for the left wing vote:  check
2.  Everything costs more:  check
3.  No real cuts:  check
4.  Ballooning debt:  check
5.  Rob the fund for what, 4 Billion?:  check
6.  No mention of increased bureaucrat severance packages and mla raises:  check
7.  All the money coming from the ever shrinking middle class:  check
8.  Despite all of the problems being pc mismanagement none of it is their fault:  check

Perhaps the carpetbagger prentice studied at the wynn school of finance;  he's heading us in the same direction as Ont.
