APOLOGY IN ORDER

when calgary dave joined this site, i welcomed him back as enigma....which was formerly boberama and mounting men 375.  i said that on information from an AO moderator who told me in no uncertain terms that they were all the same person.  dave denied that he was bobo, but did agree that he had more than 40 known usernames over there, but NOT our "special" friend. 

paul here told us all that the IPs did not match so he didnt think he was bobo either.  i dont have access to the internal techy stuff, all i have is what im told. 

it would seem that after a few months of being a contributing member of both this and the other forum, that dave just cant be bobo.  too many times he has shown intelligence and understanding of how the world works in a way that bobo NEVER could.  he has shown a maturity and class that is miles above what bobo ever could offer, and regardless of what went on with AO and all the usernames, dave has turned into a respectable forum member. 

for that, dave, please accept my most sincere apology for the misunderstanding. we have never met, and i know nothing about you personally. i was acting on information from someone that i believed i could trust.  i dont think his intent was maliscious either....just a mistaken identity.  i cant imagine how insulting it must be to be called bobo, but dave, i am truly sorry.  if we get a chance to meet, drinks are on me.

Actually you should be apologizing to the members here Dale, the guys that are supporting this board and keeping it going against a juggernaut like AO. We don't have the political connections to promote ourselves endlessly through Government websites and publications. Every time a member leaves and doesn't come back it hurts our community here. When I said Dave wasn't bobo I was positive, otherwise I wouldn't have said it, but even after I told everyone you wouldn't leave it alone.

Well bobo can suck you know what.  As for Dave really is one person going to make or break this forum???   No he is not.Also he chose to leave cause he was unbanned from the other site.  I would worry more about the true members here more than some guy with 20 posts that half are negative. we have lost way way better than him just cause not much was going on for sometime. But as we grow things get better. So don't count anyone out for ever.  Also make it more appealing to be hear over other sites.

Really Justin post count shouldnt be how we rate members. All members are just as important as the guys that have high post counts. You are far from being better than the guy that has two posts since the forum started.
Dave left for Daves reasons, not sure if you talked to him but if every member left just becasue they were unbanned from other forums then AS would be a pretty sad place. So yes even guys that just leave because they can go to AO does hurt this forum even if its just one guy.
Seemed a pretty big issue one guy leaving when Nube took a break and you guys bashed me for that one. Did he hold this place together more than any other one guy? You guys seem to think so!!! A member is a member and are all important, even if they have some negative posts!!!!

Why should any of us accuse someone else of ANYTHING if you don't have cold hard facts. Let me say this, when you have members here that contribute good stuff to this forum why do you want to chase them away, this forum is still growing right! I personally know a couple of members ( they still maybe registered members ) that don't participate on this forum because of the antics of a few on here. They left AO for the same reasons and come over here to find the same trash talk.

First i'm going to say I'm not perfect and I don't claim to be. WTS, Paul said when he started this forum that the members can have at er and he wasn't going to delete posts or threads. Its Paul's forum and he can do as he likes with it but I sometimes wonder if thats the best policy. I'm not going to mention any names here but there are a couple of members that are very negative and often resort to name calling and other tactics when they run out of argument. As far as I'm concerned, they could go, they contribute nothing or very little to this forum. Who in the hell wants to talk to some self centred, immature little asshole. They chase away other members that contribute good conversation on this forum.

Food for thought, to the few responsible and you know who you are. Now don't come back at me with a bunch a crap, not only will I don't answer you, you'll give yourself away. I posted this as "FOOD FOR THOUGHT" , hopefully the next time you post you'll use your brain before you shove your mouth in gear.

I have to disagree Justin. It wasn't just between him and Dave because Dale called him out on the board. Furthermore even after Dave said he wasn't bobo Dale continued to insist that he was. How long ago was that? 8 or 9 months ago? So it took Dale that long to figure it out even after I assured everyone Dave wasn't bobo and I knew for a fact it wasn't bobo and I had evidence it wasn't bobo.

Now, that being said good for Dale for admitting he was wrong and apologizing, but the point I am trying to make here is maybe some things are better left to private discussion to begin with.

Seems to be unlike myself and many Tuc knew exactly when to let it lie. He never referenced any names and even said those whome are guilty know who they are ( and we do ). Seems to me he let it lie where it was and where it should be! But just like he said spouting a bunch of crap will just show who they are. And guess what, the rest spelled out pretty plain. What he said could have been directed at many of us and he is right an man enough to not go that far. You want him to flat of say peoples name  so they can jump all over him for doing so. He is a far better man than that!!!! We know who we are that have caused issues so why push it bro!!!! The guilty are always the first to defend.

paul, when i said what i did, i showed you the message sent to me telling me that they were the same person.  it was not a hunch or a baseless claim.  when you saw it you agreed that it seemed pretty fishy even though the IPs did not match.  further, dave was just a handful of posts in at the time and hung around for several weeks after it, so i doubt that was what sent him packing.  only he knows, and i have contacted him and directed him to this.  i hope he sees it.  whether he comments is up to him.

i was told some words that seem to be untrue.  actions always speak much louder and daves actions have shown to me that he is a much better person than i gave him credit for.  i dont know the story behind the 40 plus usernames over there, nor do i care.  in the last several months he has shown himself to be an intelligent and honorable guy....something old bobo could never hope to be.

I generally don't lock anything, there might be 2 locked threads on this entire board, I expect everyone is mature enough here to govern themselves.

ive had a chat with dave, and he has seen this thread.  i dont think he is coming back for a couple of reasons which is a little unfortunate.  as i said, he is a good contributing member elsewhere now, and he would add to this group.  either way guys, carry on....
