Aspen fuel?
« on: October 07, 2018, 06:21:49 AM »
My 7 year old Eskimo Mako auger started leaking fuel last winter.I couldn't tell exactly from where so I took it in to the Lawnmower Hospital in the city.
When I went to pick it up they said they had to replace the fuel tank,ok I'm fine with that. Then the service guy said I should only run Aspen fuel in it as other fuels degrade the rubber parts in the fuel system.Said they sell it for $9 per litre.

I just looked at him and said have a nice day as I walked away.lol

So my question is do any of you guys run Aspen fuel and if so is it worth it?

The way I see it if I can get another 7 years out of my Mako with regular gas that will take me way beyond my fishing years.

I started to use it in my chainsaw, it does run better it seems and not having to mix gas is nice. As far as the cost, I bought a jug at the beginning of spring and still have some.  The saw is only used to cut campfire wood and a bit around my place so really not that costly. But if you run your ice auger lots I can see the cost factor.
