The Fishing Centre in Edmonton is closeing its doors , Thats a shame I always liked that place go in there and get in on some deals felas , 82 st and 129 st right by timmy hoes .

Ya, its too bad they are closing after about 25yrs in business.I heard it had to do with the investors of the company demanding more profit.

i think it has everything to do with the bigger companies taking over the industry and slowly weeding out the smaller guy... cant keep your doors open when your customers get blinded by all the pretty lights and stop shoping at your store

All though it is bad to see anybody go down,, I can't say as I was ever a fan anyways.. Its not like the owners are broke I am sure they have filled their pockets over the years and can sit back and retire. Where I am from the Fishing Hole was a big company so its not like mom and pop are going broke. There are  lot of good little shops popping up around the country so hopefully this will make room for some of the small guys to make it.

I don't think their hearts have been in it for years.  They're not even in the game.  If they wanted to compete they should have tried opening with longer hours like 10am - 9pm and open on Sundays.  Upgrade the website and start offering online shopping.  Advertising wouldn't hurt either.  Last four times I tried to do some shopping there, they were closed.
