Well I finally took the family to a local campground we spent the weekend at Gull Lake Aspen Park, it was fairly busy there but wasn't too bad. I didn't mind the campsites we managed to get a fairly private treed camping spot. For myself I am more into the wilderness camping, but for the family it's decent. Some things I liked about the site were the campsites were spread out pretty good and fairly private, the evenings were pretty quiet not too much partying. We went to the beach on Saturday and I didn't like it much, the place is a complete zoo and totally packed, we didn't stay long maybe an hour. My son, who just turned 3, wanted to play on the playground equipment there, and he's a very passive, cautious, and quiet little boy, there were bigger kids there that didn't give a shit and practically ran him over and pushed him out of the way or cut in front of him on the slides which annoyed me, but kids will be kids I suppose, so I just made sure I kept close to him. Another annoying thing was the pay for firewood, which is fair enough I suppose, but if you miss the firewood cart you're screwed for the evening as the shack is locked up. They should maybe have an honor system with envelope drop, if it works for renting the stalls it could work for wood too.
Other than that it's not a bad place to spend a couple days, we would probably go again.
