Cabela's Canada Affiliate
« on: November 14, 2011, 11:20:02 PM »
We have signed on as the first site for the Cabela's Canada affiliate program, thanks to Greg at Cabela's in Winnipeg for putting this together. We will no longer be promoting Cabela's USA or Bass Pro here. What does it mean exactly? Well how it works is we promote Cabela's Canada products, if people go to the product through our site and purchase we get a small percentage of that sale. Does it mean that I will soon retire from all the good stuff everyone is going to buy from Cabela's? Not likely, but it's a way to raise some funds so we can do more here, such as more giveaways, get the hats and decals going etc. So what you will see is an area on the left on the main page with the Alberta Sportsman picks of the week. Generally stuff that we think is a decent deal. No one is under any obligation to buy anything through the program. If you don't want to buy from Cabela's then that's your prerogative, do not buy stuff for the sake of supporting the site, that's not what this is about. That being said being involved with Cabela's Canada is a big step for us and something I feel good about, dealing with Greg to get this kicked off has been pain free.

Just a note, this doesn't create any sort of culture that if people had a reasonable concern or issue with Cabela's they feel they can't complain about it here. Members will always come before supporters and affiliates and that's been made very clear all along, and we will continue to offer what we offered from the beginning, a place for the members.

Cabelas doesn't own this site Enigma I highly doubt Paul will ever stoop to that. Its the whole reason this site was started,, for the freedom of speech and thought..

A plug for the new sponsor:

I try to support the local guy wherever I can.  When that doesn't happen, I go to the box stores.
I've no real complaints against any of them and I've always found the staff at all friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Recently I bought 3 guns.  A new semi shotgun for me(strictly for waterfowl), a pellet gun to remind the local crows that my trees are not the place to sit and squawk at 4AM, and a bolt hunting rifle as a christmas present.

Wholesale...........nope.  0 for 3
Basspro.............nope, 0 for 3 and, "we don't carry that brand".
Cabela's Edmonton........"Oh yeah, we've got at least 3 of each".

Good prices, good to deal with.  I've no complaints other than I would've liked to have had the time to look around more.  Next time I guess.
