Certainly a big 1 up for Sask sportsmen and the outdoor crowd. How about a BC store? Kamloops maybe?

hopefully the ones in Edmonton and Saskatoon wont mimic the old SIR
I was just down in the Cabelas in Billings over the weekend and was surprised how small the store there was
Still had a real nice animal display but product availability was a little reduced.

Talked to the assistant manager there about the SIR store and how the selection just wasnt up to par and how it is still cheaper for me to pay the duty and shipping charges by ordering from the US
To say the least he was surprised

I just missed one hellava sale. Cabelas in the States were selling the low end Bushnell Elite 6500 out of their Bargain Cave for $89.99. Thats right only 89 bucks. The scope is discontinued and they have no more back ordered. Sold out about 2 or 3 hours ago. Damn... :'(

Tuc, you didn't miss anything as Cabelas will not ship a scope across the border to you.  Better get a P.O. Box in Baab Montana and then worry about your order ;)

I really do not understand the excitement of a Cabelas in Edmonton guys.  The price will still be Canadian prices which will always be more than the U.S.  I ordered a cart to carry animals out of the field with last year and it was cheaper to get it shipped up from t he U.S than to pay for it out of Winnepeg and ship it????
I buy $5-10K worth of gear every year and I have very few times that it has been worth it buying Canadian.  We are being bent over really!!!
That being said it will hopefully be nice to have a store that will have supplies.  I went to get cleaning stuff for my guns and bullets to load a couple months ago and Wholesale had nothing I wanted or needed and the shelves were pretty bare.  It was sad to say the least.  Even the guys at the gun counter I talked to were rolling their eyes when I mentioned it.

Also a friend of mine just got hired ontot he Cabelas store and I believe it is suposed to open in October or November.

I think it is a prestige thing more than anything, having a high end outdoor super center like Cabela's with boost the local economy up there forsure. It's a good company with knowlegable friendly staff, ive been to the one in Fort Worth and being a BPS fan i was pleasently surprised. Now that my "boss" is Cabela's Prostaff i have to be partial in my favoritism.

Yes, I know that and was going to use my buddies brother's address in Wa. By the time I heard about it I was about 2 or 3 hours too late. SOLD OUT!
