I'm going to find out how good the insurance is from canada post. they seem to have lost a shotgun that was sent to me about a month ago.
Do I report this to the RCMP as lost, or stolen?

I believe there has been a few posts about this on CGN........IIRC CP will try to worm its way out of it or shortchange you.
I would definitly report it to RCMP. I dont know how the RCs would class it as a loss or theft.
Seems to be a few anti gun types working at CP....It might still show up looking like it got ran over by a vehicle though.

I would call CP and get them to trace it. The shitty thing about Canada Post is you as the reciever can not start a claim. You will have to get the sender to submit a claim. Unless there is a delcared value on waybill dont expect to get more than $100 back. $100 is the standard for an expedited package unless you pay for the extra insurance. I would definately be calling the RCMP to at least let them know that the gun is not yet in your possesion.

A trace was started 12 days ago. CP was supposed to call the sender by May 20th. Didn't happen. I will be calling on tuesday. The sender told me it was fully insured. After i call, i will be visiting the RCMP.

that 100 bucks business is garbage! you are paying a business to perform a service. if they cant perform thier service, then they need to make some changes. i cant imagine you would have an issue getting what you are owed in court.
