Charity Fraud
« on: October 07, 2013, 09:14:51 AM »
This past week-end I was informed that a person running a charity fishing derby in Manitoba was charged with fraud after $7000.00 raised for Kids with Cancer went missing. Here is the link for the story. This is one of the lowest thing you can do. I supplied a small amount of tackle for this event. The money was re- raised and was doubled for the charity by Donovan Pearse. He is now doing some damage control to clean up the mess.

Wow, what a piece of crap of a human being.

Good on everyone else for coming through and making things right.
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

This why I struggle with who to donate too.  I like to give but what guarantee do you have the money is going to the right people.

Unfortunately, if you do some real research you'll find even most of the, "well respected and large" charities are pretty shady.  It's a business, nothing more.  See if you can find what the hierachy of them make, it'll make you sick.

I look around locally and find a young family that could use and would make good use of a little help.  Have to be careful not to insult anyone and sometimes have to do it in a roundabout way, (like paying their grocery charge acct with the store owner sworn to secrecy),  but let's face it, most young families with young kids are alway's struggling with cash flow, especially if mom stays at home.

I also donate to a veterans group, and you have to be careful there, too, as some of them have exceedingly high, "administration costs".  If you're interested in donating to any charity, have them put in writing what percent of your donation will go where they claim it will.  Most simply won't answer you, and there's your answer.

With Remeberance day coming close thought I'd throw out a plug.  If that's not OK, please just remove this post.

Here's a charity that I can speak first hand of the good they do.  Feel free to check up on them, you'll find no skulduggery here.  Look around the website to see all they do. Thank you.
