Unfortunately, if you do some real research you'll find even most of the, "well respected and large" charities are pretty shady. It's a business, nothing more. See if you can find what the hierachy of them make, it'll make you sick.I look around locally and find a young family that could use and would make good use of a little help. Have to be careful not to insult anyone and sometimes have to do it in a roundabout way, (like paying their grocery charge acct with the store owner sworn to secrecy), but let's face it, most young families with young kids are alway's struggling with cash flow, especially if mom stays at home.I also donate to a veterans group, and you have to be careful there, too, as some of them have exceedingly high, "administration costs". If you're interested in donating to any charity, have them put in writing what percent of your donation will go where they claim it will. Most simply won't answer you, and there's your answer.
