clothing thieves
« on: February 18, 2018, 08:21:06 AM »
I was looking at a high end ski jacket at market mall in Calgary around $600.00..  They had a cable going through the sleeves and hooked to the rack.  They had another cable going through the bottom of the jackets.  When they unlock the cables so you can try on the jacket they still leave a cable going down the sleeves.  I asked what that cable was for and he said in case I tried to run out of the store.  He said they have professional thieves that bring cable cutters and magnetic pod removers and steal the jackets.  How the world has changed.  I remember back in the seventies when Mec first came to Calgary we could walk behind the counter and pick out the climbing pro we wanted.  Not anymore makes me kind of sad that this is what our world has turned into.

Isn't that all the truth. I often wonder where it took a turn like it did, it seemed to happen so fast didn't it. I'm not that old of a guy I'm 52 this spring but in my time it's gone down hill. Even when I was a kid even a teen in our small towns they were peaceful places. Mom and dad would leave the house for a week and never loch the door. Bikes, Honda trikes, ski doos all sat out in the yard. A gun sitting open in every closet in the house lol, maybe that's why.

I really want to know. Who is stealing clothes? The face will catch him in jail.

You would think the camera could catch a few and maybe it does.  I talked to a fellow who ran a service station and before they had prepay they had a lot of fill and dashes. I asked him why the camera never got the plate number and his reply was many times the camera does not get a good shot of the plate so they are SOL so now we have prepay which is o.k by me.

Just takes a few waste of skins to ruin it for everybody.
Prepay is a major peeve of mine.
It's essentially just treating everyone like a criminal and I will go down the street given a choice.
You have to wonder if it even makes financial sense as they must be losing a ton in sales of the heavily marked up in store goods ?

If you were a r.c.m.p member involved with high river you are a disgrace to the uniform and a traitor to the citizens of this country.
