Deerman (Duffy)
« on: February 20, 2014, 04:53:36 PM »
I was informed Deerman passed away of a heart attack, I am saddened by this, he always had his opinions but he was a good guy and meant well. I will miss him around here.

Sad to hear, he danced to a beat that I didn't hear but its always sad. Sounded like he had a close family, condolences to them.

That really sucks
Too young to go for sure he lived a healthy clean life style from what I do know from his posts he leaves two kids behind and a wife.
Thinking of you guys and your Dad!

Oh my, so sad to hear this. I met him at a few gun shows, thought we'd be seeing him in Red Deer next weekend. Thanks for letting us know, Paul.

Duffy and I often butted heads, but I certainly respect his convictions.  My heartfelt condolences to his family and close friends.

That is sad news.  He's been around these forums for a long time.  Wasn't afraid to go against the grain and I learned a couple things from him over the years although never had the chance to meet him personally.

Will never forget his "How to Road Hunt" article in the AO magazine years ago.  He was kind of a pioneer in the sense that at that time on the old AO forum any slight reference to involving a vehicle in hunting and the internet lynch mob was after you.  I think a lot of it came from a poor misunderstanding by most of what the rules actually are involving vehicles.  He wasn't afraid to voice that there is nothing illegal about road hunting you just have to be aware of what the rules are.

Gonna miss his posts.  Yeah it seemed like sometimes he was shit disturbing just to shit disturb but also had some good points that made people think of things from the other side of the fence.

Shrubs, Duff was old school and I think that conflicted with a lot of this new technology that he didn't care for. Him and I got along ok but I did see a change in him after he came back from down under. Still I respected his opinions even if I didn't agree with all of them. He was drawn to hunt Sask WT last fall and I was going to put him up here at the acreage. It never happened and now I wish it had of. I guess he had too many tags and was lucky enough to fill them all.

Duff was one of the ole timers on these forums and love him or hate him, his knowledge will truly be missed. He was dedicated to the sport we all love and for that I admire the man!

Very sorry to hear this. I always respected his opinions, he was very passionate about our wildlife resources and wasn't afraid to make a case for what he thought was right. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.
