No this is not a joke thread...but before I make a complete fool of myself and tell you what is going on I need to know..

Do you believe in something that is ..for lack of better words..unnatural?

Yes I believe in spirits one would have to if one believes in life after death (i.e.) Christianity. But I also believe that only those that play around in that world or don't seek a guardian for better words from that world would be the ones to experience seeing ghosts or spirits.

Sonny nothing to be afraid of. Since my Mom has passed there has been noise and objects moved in my house.
She knocked the watch she wore off of the table sitting in my living room..right in front of me. Sonny has someone passed recently close to you or your wife ?

Mother in law passed away in January at a nice age of 96 but this has been going on since we moved here in 2010.. :o

I'm not afraid since this "presence" means us no harm but...kinda spooky if you know what I mean..

On a lighter note...If we misplace something such as keys we just lol and blame it on the Ghost... ;D

Interesting.  I used to be a non-believer in spirits before I actually experienced it for myself.  We used to have a hunting camp in the area of the old Klondike Trail.  That place was seriously haunted.  We would hear strange noises and many people had "experiences" in that area.  Mine was a noise at night that sounded like someone hammering a wooden stake into the ground with an axe.  Tink..tink..tink.  It was a steady repetitive sound that came from a thick small spruce area right behind our camp.  There was nothing there but tight 10 foot spruce trees.  I even got up one quiet starry night and went out there with the flashlight.  Nothing there but that sound.  My hair stood up on my neck.  All of our hunting party had similar experiences.

One fella even couldn't take it and went home once and vowed never to come back to that area ever again.  He was a complete non-believer before that and said we were all full of it with our stories until his experience.
Sounds like a row boat with squeaky oarlocks was another common sound on a windless quiet night.  One of my hunting partners claimed to have seen an apparition in a cutblock.

Spooky stuff but I made peace with the spirits and accepted it after a while.  We stop and pay tribute to every old grave site that we pass by in that area.
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

I have always believed.
My one grandmother was a " seer" as she called it.

I experienced a weird dream one night (what I thought) when I was about 9 or 10 where I was sitting up in bed and talking to a man dressed in an old Canadian army uniform that spoke with a slight accent. Never told anyone and a couple months later we were going through a bunch of old family photos and I saw this guy. Asked my dad who it was and he said that it was his father. I never knew my one grandfather as he died well before I was born. Was really weird.....

Also had a young man my son grew up with that had committed suicide when he was about 16 yrs old. He spent countless hours at our house growing up and turned out he and my daughter were quite close (like brother and sister) and he always looked out for her.
a couple years later when she was going through some teenage issues and depression we noticed that at times all the cupboard doors in the kitchen were open when we came down in the morning. He had a bad habit of doing that and I would always give him crap for it when he was alive ( open cupboards are one of my pet peaves). We discussed it with my daughter and all she would say was" don't worry it's James".
Turns out my daughter was like my Oma. The cupboard thing followed us out here to Alberta but stopped after my daughter became stable enough to get off the meds and start living a normal life. One night she sat in the living room and blurted out" I'm Okay now James you don't need to worry". The cupboards have never been open in the morning since.

Wow...I'm impressed with all of the replies..

I was sure someone would say "Sonny put the damn beer down and grow up"

To Paul..

For months and months we had problems with our TV..The picture would sometimes get pixelated.

The Shaw techs would come out and change this or that and the tv would work great.Until they let. >:(

Called them back atleast a dozen times and they were completely puzzled with our problems.Everyone else in the neighbourhood was Not having any problems, just us.They changed all the cables right out to the green box down the street...still had problems with the tv.. :(

One day I said "Ok ghost stop effing with our cable cause it ain't funny anymore.. >:(

TV worked great ever since.. ;)...but I'm still looking over my shoulder...lol.. :o

Well seeings how everyone' sharing without fear of being labelled...

Was sleeping at my dads about 10 years ago, he lived in an old house right on Lesser Slave, original part was built in the 40's I believe, stories of old Sawridge burials grounds and such around there.

I am laying in bed, and near asleep, and I feel a real heaviness in the room, and then I swear something touched me. Well I come out of my skin, sat up and screamed "gtfo out of here!" I see a red humanoid shape, somewhat transparent like a mist almost, it floats away from the side of the bed and into the closet and disappears through the wall. Of course a guy starts rationalizing and asking himself did I really see that? I wasn't dreaming though, never forgot it.

Oh my.. ;D

A professor at Wayne State University in Detroit was giving a lecture on Paranormal Studies.

To get a feel for his audience , the lecturer asks , "How many people here believe in ghosts?"

About 90 students raise their hands .

"Well, that's a good start . Out of those who believe in ghosts , do any of you think you have seen a ghost?"

About 40 students raise their hands .

"That's really good. I'm really glad you take this seriously . Has anyone here ever talked to a ghost?"

About 15 students raise their hand .

"Has anyone here ever touched a ghost?"

Three students raise their hands .

"That's fantastic . Now let me ask you one question further ... Have any of you ever made love to a ghost?"

Way in the back, Ahmed raises his hand .

The professor takes off his glasses and says, "Son, all the years I've been giving this lecture, no one has ever claimed to have made love to a ghost . You've got to come up here and tell us about your experience."

The Middle Eastern Muslim student replied with a nod and a grin, and began to make his way up to the podium. When he reached the front of the room, the professor asks , "So, Ahmed, tell us what it's like to have sex with a ghost?"

Ahmed replied, "Shit, from way back there I thought you said Goats."

My grandfather visits me every time I'm headed for rough water.

He gas been doing it for 40 years now since the day he died.

I knew before the phone even rang because he whispered in my ear.

I always get a heads up either in a dream or a whisper in the ear when there is a death in the family or trouble headed my way.

He rode beside me in the truck and kept me moving when i had a heart attack a couple years back and he gave me an extra shove when i didnt have the strength to open the emergency room door.

Keep moving foreward.
A little further proffesor.

Last thing he said to me was on the medivac plane as we landed in Edmonton when he told me i'd made it but had some fences to mend.

We dont hang pictures of the dead in our home but both my kids knew exactly who he was the first time they saw his picture. Both claimed that he would visit and play with them.  He passed a decade before the first was born.

God I miss that old man.

Funny you mention that Marmot, when my son was 3 he saw a picture of my grandmother on my dads side. She has been gone for many years, we don't have any photos of her around the house, this one was pulled from a box. So I asked him "do you know who this lady is son?" so I could share it with him, to my astonishment he looks at me and says "grandma". So I tried to press him a bit on it but with his autism it's hard to get him to communicate sometimes, so I just sort of let it go.

I had a brother in law get murdered a few years ago. For a little over a year, his presence would be felt. Sometimes he would be at our place for weeks, then it would go away. When we talked to the other person who was in his life, she would tell us he was down visiting with her.
Eventually, he came to the ex wife, late one night. He told her all was okay now, that we didn't have to worry about him. He was with his baby girl now.
With that he was gone. His departure was as sudden as his passing. Actually miss his creepy touch.

My personal take on all this. This here pretty much sums it up. Am I right well this is only what my beliefs are each have their own. Like I stated in the beginning yes I believe in spirits its where those spirits are from is what my concern is. Here is a writing that sums up my take on it all.

Sorry if t offends this is not my intention just my view of it. This is not my writing, just sums up my beliefs in the matter.

http://www.gotquestions.org/ghosts-hauntings.html

Answer: Is there such a thing as ghosts? The answer to this question depends on what precisely is meant by the term “ghosts.” If the term means “spirit beings,” the answer is a qualified “yes.” If the term means “spirits of people who have died,” the answer is “no.” The Bible makes it abundantly clear that there are spirit beings, both good and evil. But the Bible negates the idea that the spirits of deceased human beings can remain on earth and “haunt” the living.

Hebrews 9:27 declares, “Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” That is what happens to a person’s soul-spirit after death—judgment. The result of this judgment is heaven for the believer (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23) and hell for the unbeliever (Matthew 25:46; Luke 16:22-24). There is no in-between. There is no possibility of remaining on earth in spirit form as a “ghost.” If there are such things as ghosts, according to the Bible, they absolutely cannot be the disembodied spirits of deceased human beings.

The Bible teaches very clearly that there are indeed spirit beings who can connect with and appear in our physical world. The Bible identifies these beings as angels and demons. Angels are spirit beings who are faithful in serving God. Angels are righteous, good, and holy. Demons are fallen angels, angels who rebelled against God. Demons are evil, deceptive, and destructive. According to 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, demons masquerade as “angels of light” and as “servants of righteousness.” Appearing as a “ghost” and impersonating a deceased human being definitely seem to be within the power and abilities that demons possess.

The closest biblical example of a “haunting” is found in Mark 5:1-20. A legion of demons possessed a man and used the man to haunt a graveyard. There were no ghosts involved. It was a case of a normal person being controlled by demons to terrorize the people of that area. Demons only seek to “kill, steal, and destroy” (John 10:10). They will do anything within their power to deceive people, to lead people away from God. This is very likely the explanation of “ghostly” activity today. Whether it is called a ghost, a ghoul, or a poltergeist, if there is genuine evil spiritual activity occurring, it is the work of demons.

What about instances in which “ghosts” act in “positive” ways? What about psychics who claim to summon the deceased and gain true and useful information from them? Again, it is crucial to remember that the goal of demons is to deceive. If the result is that people trust in a psychic instead of God, a demon will be more than willing to reveal true information. Even good and true information, if from a source with evil motives, can be used to mislead, corrupt, and destroy.

Interest in the paranormal is becoming increasingly common. There are individuals and businesses that claim to be “ghost-hunters,” who for a price will rid your home of ghosts. Psychics, séances, tarot cards, and mediums are increasingly considered normal. Human beings are innately aware of the spiritual world. Sadly, instead of seeking the truth about the spirit world by communing with God and studying His Word, many people allow themselves to be led astray by the spirit world. The demons surely laugh at the spiritual mass-deception that exists in the world today

Walleye, that is 100% what I believe when it comes to spirits. I have friends who have had experiences, good friends, so I don't disbelieve what they say at all.

Axeman, that sounds like Sasquatch. Have you seen the videos of Survivor Man trying to prove/disprove Sasquatch? Interesting. I have no personal opinion on Sasquatch, lol.
