...socialist hippies in commie land..., well, as I am a former member of the Alberta Forest Service, the BCFS, and the Canadian Coast Guard, I rather doubt that this applies to me. However, whatever blows your skirt up........

No, I doubt that our current government will enact an agreement with Enbridge for this pipeline and it will very likely be cancelled. I think that Harper has shot himself in the foot with his comments and those of some of his ministers and this is going to affect the outcome here in BC.

I like Alberta, family pioneered there in the 1890s, about twenty years after we settled in BC and I do not believe in "regionalism" in Canada, but, it is a constant, destructive and foolish force in Canadian society.

Well it may not apply to you,, but you still don't want the pipeline eh ?? Nope,, don't need that in your thriving booming province.. Lolo fricken BC,, socialist commies.. They sure like the social programs they just haven't figured out that you actually need industry to pay for it all.. NDP yup thats what you all need back in there,, the good old dippers they will get er all fixed up for yah lol..

No it will get built all the lines will get built may be 5 years may be 10 or 20 years but they will all get built. The world needs our resources and we will deliver it to them.. Heck we may even throw a few crumbs your way in the process.

Well, who knows, I think that there are better alternatives for Alberta and the rest of Canada, but, I am not going to get into a flame war about it here.

I think, tho', that we are on the verge of social changes in Canadian society far beyond anything we have seen since the immediate post-WWII days and things will be much different in both BC and Alberta within the next decade. But, that may be just my "geezer" conservatism influencing my opinions, eh.  :)

What we REALLY need in BC-Alberta is cheaper beer, longer holidays and more access as "accompanied hunters" for you guys and other Canucks to BC sheep, goat and Grizzly hunting. Now, if ya argue with THAT, I will know who the REAL ...hippy... is here........   ;) :)

Dewy,, I don't mean to be so condescending its just that I can't figure people out,, I really can't. They want to drive around in their SUV's which Vancouver and BC are full of, they want to go fishing in their big boats, yet oil is bad they want nothing to do with it.  The lower mainland and Gulf islands are the most heavily populated areas in the province if not the whole country. The carbon foot print of that area far exceeds anything that is happening in our Alberta oil sands yet "WE" are poluting the enviroment. They want to live in houses but they don't want logging. They want to eat fish in the restaurant and buy it at the market but fish farming is bad and they want to stop commercial fishing ?? they want electricity but no hydro damns. They want paved roads, new schools, new hospitals, new swimming pools, new bridges, new everything but they turn away any viable business opportunity there is..

You want to be treated as an intelligent human being then come to the table with intelligence. Don't come with a pie in the sky dreamer attitude.. Its dumb,, sorry to be so blunt but it is..
