No kidding. I am amazed that CBC thinks people buy into their propaganda, or I'm naive and many people do. Now having said that my BIL from back east is a CBC'er, but he is also a clown, like the guy he voted for.

I honestly think that there is finally a substantial general movement that is challenging the Mainstream Media.  In the last few years especially, the MSM, we will call it, has become so overtly biased and agenda driven by their funders.  The bias and lies were becoming so evident that the term "Fake News" was officially coined by Trump.  The battle of outright propaganda was so obvious, the public perception has changed to at least a questionable stance to many news organizations.  The CNN vs Fox News battles on issues were completely polar with the actual truth of the matter lost in the dust.  This "Fake News" phenomenon has also taken legs in Canada too, but not to the same degree as in the USA.  At least in the USA their are 2 competing sides with their own political bias.  In Canada, there is only the left news remaining in the mainstream.  Sun News, The Rebel, and a few others have been forced out for various reasons and they were not as mainstream to begin with.  In Canada, the funding, the regulations - CRTC, and the government at all levels have favored the the big 3 Lefty MSM players in Canada (CBC, CTV, Global).  There is no Fox News in Canada.

Back to the ridiculousness of the MSM for a second.  The news has become an opinion piece for the most part now.  When we hear a reporter start a story with "Expert's say" or "Scientist's say" you can assure yourself the rest of the story is complete bullshit.  What that means is they actually do not have an actual credible information source or name that can researched to back up their story.  I work in the scientific/technical field where if you write a paper and quote background facts or data, you must absolutely include in text citation or a reference list of sources at the end of the paper or both.  MSM reporters get away with vague references to "experts" with absolutely no validity to back up their bs agenda.  The best examples of these can be found in Climate Change articles by the MSM.

The fact is that the MSM can only maintain its grip with funding.  Only so much money can be raised by advertising revenue and even then that market is dominated by ratings.  When you throw in government funding to the media like what we have here in Canada, the whole system is screwed up.  It is a vicious circle of propaganda and political greed.  Publish liberal friendly media, get more liberal funding from Trudeau and that is a proven fact.  Trudeau just recently restored $675 M to the CBC.  Harper was gradually reducing the CBC tax based funding to a very whining bunch of liberal Canadians.  Those "Save the CBC" signs on lawns were sickening in the last Federal Campaign.  No, make them compete, like any other media outfit!
Alberta NDP Rachel Notley is now feeding the CBC 10 of millions of our tax money (debt money) on those stupid tv ads that are promoting her failed "Climate Leadership" idea without using that term anymore.  That is simply gift money to the media to be friendly to her in the upcoming campaign.  She knows the game, get the NDP name on the boob tube as much as possible with "free" tax money because so many voters are so stupid that voting is more of a game of name recognition to them.  Oh ya, I heard of them and they are in government, so might as well vote for them.  :'(

I could go on, but we all get it, or at least any intelligent person does.  Likely, liberal voters still see the CBC as gospel, but who said they were intelligent. (sorry about your BIL, LeverAction  ;))  The real trouble is now Global and CTV are almost as bad as the CBC.  Any Canadian that can't think for themselves which is about half of Canada is likely to eat the bullshit from the MSM and vote Liberal.  It is encouraging to see the Yellow Vest protests often pick on the MSM and especially the CBC now.  The tide is turning on the bullshitters so to speak.

There have been a few recent studies done on the average intelligence of journalists with pretty disturbing conclusions.  And yes, I will reference one.

https://www.taraswart.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Report-Study-into-the-mental-resilience-of-journalists-Dr-Tara-Swart.pdf
"As a group, the journalists also exhibited lower executive functioning scores than the average person, indicating a lower than average
ability to regulate emotions, suppress biases, solve complex problems, switch between tasks, and think flexibly
and creatively."

I watched the Trudeau town hall meeting in Regina tonight. It was painful listening to another liar, but it was pretty clear he has little to no respect in Saskatchewan either. The First Nations let rip on him pretty good as did a guy in the oil industry, as did another elderly lady on a few topics. The lady called Trudeau a traitor and said "you know what we used to do with traitors, we hung them". She got some applause for that one.

Mostly he just stood there like a whipped pup and then sort of answered with his typical reply...........just a bunch of BS and no real answer. Obviously had a few planted immigrants in the crowd who he picked for questions, they would stand up and did nothing but thank him, about the only support he had.

I was commenting the whole time and when the meeting was over, I think there were 22k comments. I looked at quite a few and never saw a positive comment, many many calling him a liar and a traitor.

I follow Michelle Rempel, MP from Calgary and support her as really the best of the CPC Party.
I believe that if she was leader instead of Andrew Scheer, the fall election would be a slam dunk.

Here she is once again making absolute fools out the Liberals and embarrassing Bill Morneau this time.
As some commenters put it: "Omfg I love it. Beat the gender whackjobs at their own game!!!" and "The Rempel train just ran him over "
Really worth the watch:

Haha, great point Walleyes.  Made me chuckle.  ;D
Andrew is that mute boy from Saskatchewan that will soon be the biggest embarrassment to Canada for losing to Groper boy if he doesn't learn to open his mouth and turn on his brain soon.
Still time to punt him and put Michelle as leader.  Hint hint...CPC.

He was starting to make a little noise a couple months ago. He latched onto O'Leary for a couple public appearances and then, poof out of site once again.

I wonder if it's him or just the main stream media keeping him out of site, one has to wonder. But still this day and age it's not  hard to make noise if you want to.

I'm sure he's a heck of a nice guy but man,, get up before noon and make some noise yah putz.

So "Sunny Ways Turdo Jr", the great world globalist has just about pissed off every country in the world now.  Who's next?
So far in no real order:

Canada - divided his own country more than ever, even the natives...lol.
USA - No surprise there.  Trump hates him.  Some will blame that on Trump but it would be the same with any other Republican President.
China - He really put his foot in the poop on this one.  No reason to arrest Meng.  That just blew up on him and now he is defending the Canadian drug dealer that has a long and real guilty history.
Russia - Didn't Justin say he would punch Putin in the face.  Still waiting for that....lol.  Putin would crush him.
India - They didn't like his Mr. Dressup dance and inviting a terrorist there with him was over the top.
Saudi Arabia - Not that I care about that one, but he even manages to piss off his Muslim heros.
Venezuela - Even picked a fight with the new socialist dictator there.  Should have been his hero....maybe just jealous.
Japan - Pissed them off with his walkout on TPP.

I remember the Liberal losers in Canada blaming Harper for deteriorating Canadian-World relations.  Trudeau has made a mess of this.  Too bad the world sees this moron as the face of Canada, Canadians should be ashamed of that.  Under Harper's time, Canadians could travel the world without much fear, that has changed now with Turdo.

Trudeau is condemning the death sentence handed to that Canadian drug smuggler there.  No, this loser was jailed twice in Canada for that and still went to China after that to smuggle 220 KG of Meth and got caught red-handed. No sympathy from me.  Kill the bastard.  Trudeau loves him though.  Now there is a travel ban to China.

More hypocrisy and cover up from the NDP. Does the word implosion come to mind.
https://edmontonjournal.com/news/politics/no-foundation-rachel-notley-denies-bullying-allegations-within-ndp-levied-by-mla-robyn-luff

Its real sad how they push the allegations under the rug and won't name them as their private investigation cleared them of any wrong doing in their opinion. But hey, her best bud Turdo got away with a grope too.

I think they were actually cleared of any criminal activity but not of inappropriate behavior, more NDP cover up BS. You would think that people especially politicians would be well aware of how sexual misconduct thrives in secrecy............shame shame NDP.

As if you needed proof !
What they don't tell you is most Quebecers aren't sure
where Alberta is and certainly weren't aware that Alberta sent them
money...Any hope that the CAQ conservatives were smarter than Couillards

Notley most threatened Premier.
« Reply #1015 on: January 16, 2019, 03:50:16 PM »
I am definitely not condoning violence against Notley..........but found some of these facts interesting. In 2016, protection services changed its process of reviewing and monitoring security threats, in part to include more surveillance of social media. That year, 412 incidents were reported involving Notley, 26 of which were forwarded to police as they were deemed to have approached a criminal threshold. The increase in security has cost the province 100’s of thousands of dollars.

No doubt the increase in social media has been responsible for some of the increase, but citizen anger, rage and distrust is evident.A recent media report revealed that threats made against Notley far outnumbered those made against Alberta’s previous four premiers since 2003.

She received 19 threats in 2015 alone, compared with former premiers Alison Redford, who received 16 threats during her two-and-a-half years in office, and Ed Stelmach, who received 15 during his four years in office.

More rats are jumping the NDP ship. When opportunistic Sandra Jansen, who crossed the floor in a huff over not getting any support in the leadership race decides to leave, you know things are not looking great for Nutley. Sure hoping the dippers get spanked to near oblivion in a few months.
