I'm with you Axeman, it just don't sit right.

All Turdo had to do was sit Horgan down and say I'm the boss, I have the power to ram this through and if I have to, it will cost BC big in penalties etc. Wanna play hard ball? Plus it would have gave Horgan an out. He could call Turdo the bad guy, say he forced your hand and done. Nope, lets buy the pipeline.

At least every greenie snowflake, SJW in BC is probably losing their mind today. And that will cost Turdo votes so one good thing.

I keep wondering, what if we still had Harper and Clark, would we even be talking today about the pipeline other than protesters harassing the work site?

I have wondering for a while ,how Shiny is going to get his real pals
At the helm of something big in Canada .....The Feds will build it and
they will sell it . To the highest bidder , someone who has a real yen
for the oil and gas bussiness . The Democrats will regain power in
the US , the struggle will long and hard . So  They will never notice
      that the largest corporate entity
in Canada has its head office in Beijing.
So this little asshole s legacy is not a worldwide collection of
Social faux pas but more of a total democratic upheaval in the
         British colonial system.
He is the great opportunity for separations in Canada .
He is our dream boy .
Kind of makes Napoleon look like a rank amateur.
This is Canada , if some kind of mental health regime had to be
met to be prime minister , since confederation, the position would
          never have been filled.

I'm with you as well axe, I'm not totally against the government getting in on this it's just that it wasn't necessary. Kinder Morgan had every intention to build this on their own all they wanted was some clarity why was that not possible for them to obtain. Not a message we want going out to the global investment world. I hope this is a huge nail in pretty boys coffin. Its not said and done and built either, this could drag on for years yet.

Unfortunately you have to remember liberals don't actually want to do anything, all that's important to them is to, "appear" to be doing something with no awareness or care of consequences.

Buying the assets and not the construction allows them to appear to be supporting the pipeline.

Sure appearance of  construction may start (vastly over budget and behind sched.), however little justin has proven he will not back construction so this way they can put it off till after the next election claiming court injunctions, etc. to placate the loonie left in BC and central Canada.

Sorry guys, I don't see the pipeline happening, the libs will just turn it into yet another lib white elephant on the taxpayers back.

Bruce,

Absolutely no doubt you are spot on with your assessment.  Scary, isn't it.
That is exactly why Morneau didn't talk about construction costs at all.
Notley is being so suckered by the Libs and she doesn't even know it.
That is the part that was so confusing to me.  He kept talking about the $4.5 B only and not anything beyond that.

Those Trudeau's sure know how to put a boot up the butts of us Albertans.

Now we have a "Nationalized" pipeline that looks like it will never be built.

How more NEP 2 can you get?

Stuff like this sort of makes a guy feel helpless.

I can't imagine what the majority of the liberal party is thinking of Wynne right now.  They could have put a dirty old shoe in the race and won more seats.  Some people are just so ignorant, almost like a Clinton syndrome.  Absolutely too proud, stupid, ingnorant that they will take a whole party down with them no matter what all the indicators are saying.  Wynne had at least a year of warning that this election would be a disaster for her.

Good for them, I hope he serves them well.

Now if we can just get the rest of the country off the welfare train,, ooops I mean communist train,, ooops I mean socialist regime,,, oops I mean liberal band wagon we will get this country back on track. I think the left has finally done it and just went to far left for this country and people are starting to wake up and retaliate.

Haha, Trump and Trudeau not so friendly now.
Mr. Sunny Ways met his match.....

Trump called him very dishonest and weak.  Also, White House reps called him backstabbing and there is a special place in hell for him.   Lol....I have to agree.

...and hilarity ensues.  Our pm.....next on worlds funniest video's.

Man I hope the libs run him in the next election.  Everytime I think he can't prove any more to the world he's the worst choice possible for a pm he lowers the bar and proves me wrong.

At this point he'd literally garner more respect actually wearing a clown costume to int'l negotiations.

And , back in Bizarro world .....I guess Trump not use to
Dealing with the irrational dilitante pompous near royalty
