Anyone hear anything about SRD extending the season for the guy that bought the Ministers Sheep Tag?

Well thx for the post elk,, but ugghh I just hate it when I have to go over to that piece of shit site,,, no really.. 2 min on there and I can see why I got out.. Still the same old ass holes pounding their chest's over nothing,, arguing with themselves if they have nothing more to argue over.. So after going through a bunch of the usual idiots posts there still isn't anything solid on the subject..

Thx elk,, but now I am pissed off for the night after going over there..

But now my take on it is this,, I don't see a big deal with the whole thing ( if it happened ).. This is a special license to begin with set under its own ideals and if the situation required a little change from the norm no big deal.. Especially if it was changed for the fellow that paid the big bucks for the tag. The whole idea of the tag is to create funds for conservation if they cater to a fellow that drops a few hundred grand on a tag,, go for it keep him happy,, he paid for it..

Not sure those were the responses I expected, my concern if it is true. is just how easy the powers that be will fold to something like this. Any of us threaten them and they'd laugh us out of the province.

I just read all that crap as well, doesn't the tag go through the fifteenth of December anyway?

I tend to disagree with the sentiment that he should go until he gets one as well, this is still hunting regardless how much you pay for the tag. I don't know it just stinks to me I don't like the idea that some clown behind a desk in Edmonton can just change rules at his whims.

I didn't use my Elk tag. One of the reasons is, I spent a lot of time whitetail hunting. I wonder if SRD would extend my season if I threaten to sue them. Or, atleast refund the price of the tag

I'm with you on this one Mav..... It reeks and I don't like it. He had his chance and decided to go hunt w/t instead. It just keeps pointing down the path where the guy with the most money gets to hunt, how and when he pleases...... Alllllll wrong and if it doesn't stop it will lead to a whole lot of bullshat that most of us average guys can't afford. My two cents is that everybody out there should be up in arms and heads should roll.....

Hunting is already getting to a be bastardized by money and I don't like it either.  This is just another example of it.
I don't know the exact details on this but the rules should definitely be set before the game is on.
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

I thought we weren't going to trash the other site there Walleyes?  At least that was what i heard the last time I posted anything negative about it.  But I do agree with you ;) :)

I think this whole changing regulations for the wealthy is crap.  They wouldn't have changed any season for me.   :'(

I definitely respect everyone's view on this and I can see why people feel the way they do. But like I said personally it doesn't bother me. This tag is not distributed like any other tag anyways, its sold to the highest bidder with the pretence and objective to raise funds for conservation. It is the "MINISTERS" tag and as such if the MINISTER wants to allow the season for that tag to be extended so what. Really guys does it effect any of us in any way ?? no. Now is it the fact that the season was extended or is it the fact that it was extended for someone that has money. Is it the season that bothers you or the fact the guy is rich ??? Money talks guys its always been that way it always will be,, sorry but thats life.. The guy has dropped I am sure over a hundred grand to shoot a sheep,, let him go shoot a sheep who cares if its 2 weeks later.. The province has its money let him get his animal..

If this whole concept of the rich getting more bothers you all,, go occupy something somewhere,, there are a whole whack of people out there doing it go join in  ;)  ;)

It's friday and it's the x-mas season. I suspect you've been imbibing.?
He bought a TAG, knowing the season.
He didn't buy a sheep.
It's not "his animal" until he puts his tag on it.

Why don't we just let him in one of the parks to shoot  "his animal". Afterall he deserves it. Dropping over a hundred grand.

I go along with the theory of he bought the tag knowing the season dates and all the stipulations. He agreed to that when he bid. They are selling a hunt, no guarentee and no option for extensions if things do happen to not go his way. If they extend his are they gunna extend the other minister tags as well?

If he wants to have the "Oppertunity to hunt" an exceptional  animal  then he bought the right tag. If he wanted a "guarentee to shoot"  an exceptional animal I guess he should have looked into a fenced hunt.

Where will it stop if one guys season is extended? Maybe we should extend goat season so as residents with a once in a lifetime tag makes sure to tag out? Im 10 years on my moose draw tag now. Ive got alot invested so why shouldnt I get to extend my season till I harvest one?
We all know the seasons and the odds. They are set and shouldnt be changed to accomidate one person. Its hunting, if you buy a minister tag and dont harvest an animal in that long extended season that alows you to hunt lots of zones then I guess it wasnt ment to be.

Just my thoughts for what they are worth!!!

I agree Darcy. My buddy has the elk tag and I'm pretty sure it is still in his pocket...... Can he contact the powers to extend his season?? He didn't spend near the money this guy did, I'm pretty sure they will tell him to pound salt.

My wife has a special draw late season cow elk tag around home, maybe we can get an extension and make sure to have time to go out for it because as it looks I may not be home to go find any but with an extension we would have time!
