Food Pictures & Recipes
« on: June 01, 2011, 10:25:29 AM »
I love fishing, but my love for food comes in at a close second. My favorites are East Indian, Thai, Sushi, Seafood, Cajun & Southern US BBQ.

Here's a pic of the classic Chili Cheese Dog

- Harvest Weiners
- Extra Lean Ground, Beef Tenderloin & Chorizo Sausage Chili
- Shredded Cheddar
- Sour Cream
- Sliced Jalapeno's & Green Onion
- Pilsner

Enjoy

Looks tasty but you better not be eating that the night before we head out fishing!

I don't have pictures.... because it's all gone!!

I was at a 3D shoot a little while back and one of the guys produced a bunch of mule deer sausage that I had to try. If you like sweet things this is a recipe you must try, especially if you have dryer sausage in the 2-1/2" - 3" casings. Apparently, this is an old German recipe... or so I was told:

Cut sausage into 1/4" slices
Put into large stock pot
Completely cover with beer. Dark Ales and Honey Browns seem the best
Add pre-packaged pickling spices (I usually use about 1/2 a bag or a bit more for 5 lbs. of sausage
Add about 3 cups of Brown Sugar
Add a Tablespoon of AllSpice
Boil until the liquid almost becomes a syrup.
Remove sausage slices from the pot and scrape off any excess pickling spice from meat
Grab a beer and enjoy the fruits of your labour

It's like candy, but better!

I was working in Lafayette, Louisiana in April and i was fortunate enough to attend a local Crawdad boil. Pure pepper sauce in the "coola", push in tail, twist, pull and dont forgot to suck out the head.........wipe your ass with a snowcone. Got to love the Cajun's!
