« on: March 01, 2013, 08:59:31 PM »
Picked up my new ecoboost f150 in Edmonton today. Pretty snappy truck for a 6 banger going to pull my trailer with it they sure rate these high 12000 lbs pull really noticed they are fussy for fuel economy at 110 I was getting 18.5 at 99 I was getting 25-26. Should get better as it breaks in.

Looks good Paul,, let us know how it does. Personally I will never run a gas job again,, not for a tow truck.. Had an 08, 6.0l.had decent gas mileage just running the empty truck but man,, hook anything up behind it and you could watch the gauge move.. Hope this one tows well for you..

Nice lookin pickup, Paul.  I heard that programming is backed down for the breakin period and after that mileage really picks up.
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

I still have my f350 diesel terry and sick of paying 10 cents more at the pump and getting 14-15 mpg and when I pin the trailer up I get about 9 mpg. I honestly expect to save 300-400 a month on fuel.

Great truck but like you said they are fussy with fuel economy. I am getting as high as 18L/100 km at highway speeds in 4x4, and as low as 13.1L/100 km driving 105 in 2x4. As long as you keep it less than 2000 RPM the mileage is great over that no better than any thing else. I find the tranny gets lost when you punch it to pass. The engine breaking in cruise control bugs me to, drops down to 4th gear when going down hill to maintain set speed. 40,000 km on mine average 15.8L/100 km. I buy a new truck every 2 years, like this the one the best so far, narrowly beats the Tundra. Can't wait to hook the trailer up this summer.
