Gettin The Itch..
« on: July 27, 2013, 07:21:48 PM »
Really been getting the hunting itch lately,, as usual this time of year. My attention turns more from the fishing over to hunting.. Start watching more hunting shows than fishing shows lol,, just the mood.

Really looking forward to it this year as it looks like the middle boy will join us this year it's been quite a number of years since he has been in moose camp with us, school and then work has kept him away so that will be awesome. Couple that with the fact I cancelled my west coast trip this year,, just wasn't working out for us,, very tough for me to accept,, but what do you do. So this falls moose camp will be my only outing to speak of its going to be extra special..

Sam and I are already scouting deer around the neighbourhood and getting our stands up. Bought the new Gun and have that to finnish sighting in,, oh yah it's that time of year again my thoughts switch form the water to the woods and fields..

Love it !!

Yup, us as well.  Been ramping up our practicing, getting the gear sorted.  8 weeks and we're away!

I hear ya. This is my 12 year old son's first year. It's guaranteed to be another memorable one.

We've been sending a lot of arrows down range and things are looking good.

Zero luck on draws, but that won't stop us, just move us around more!

Got drawn for antlerless elk in 358 & antlered moose in 524.  I hate to push the season, but for some reason with the so called summer that we have had, I would just as soon have fall.  I had some work done on my rifles by Dave Henry out of Bentley.  I had him put some new glass with Talley rings on the two rifles-Zeiss Conquest HD5 2x10x44 on my Browning 25.06 & Zeiss Conquest HD5 3x15x44 on my Voere 7mm Rem Mag, both with the Rapid Z reticles.  Both rifles are grouping better with these scopes, so I am itching to use them for real!!!

Same over here, our trees are turning color already. Last week we had a morning high of 3 degrees C. , so I wouldn't doubt there will be frosty mornings in August.

Bring it on, fall is my favourite time of the year. Itch or no itch I just love what thay time of year brings.

Walleyes, I don't mind being on the water on a nice fall day. I remember fishing Tobin early in October last year,  that warm afternoon sun, along with the changing colors of the trees and the loons calling.......A feller realizes, it's GOOD to be alive!

They are all scared that I might do all of the shooting.  You know yourself that Romanians & Ukranians couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a shovel of grain, they need a German to do the dirty work!! ;D  Good luck this fall to you and the boys Terry!!!  I can't wait to hear the bullshit that comes out your camp.
