Haida Gwai fishing near Masset
« on: June 21, 2016, 03:34:23 PM »
Hey guys - sorry i haven't posted or been around much lately.  Darn work is limiting my fun time. lol  anyway I did make it out with a buddy for 4 days of fishing in early june at the Naden lodge in Masset.  Seas were a little rough, temps were cool and the fishing was average.  We caught quite a few chinooks in the 12-20 lb range with the largest being 22.  The halibut were great with it being hard to catch our small ones.  We caught quite a few in the 90-110 cm range (30-45 lbs) with one being 165 cm - website says it would have weighed over 130 lbs.

Right on Weste,, nice looking fish buddy.

I've never made it out to that part of the world yet but one day for sure.

Not sure I am going to make it out west this summer, just tossing the idea around but I think we will take a year off.

Whoa Ho Ho:

Nice going Weste.

How was the service at Naden Lodge?

My relatives are very business conscious.

Any problems with service?

hey greylynx

I know there are a number of investors with the lodge.  Who are you related to?  I was there with the Nugent family.Kevin Craig Keith and Jan.   Service and lodge were excellent.  definitely no chance of being hungry or losing weight!!  lol

It was a blast walleyes.  The bigger salmon are july/August but i wanted the bigger halis so this time of year works for me.

Hey Weste:

I have some Haida Gwai relatives out that way. Their last name is McIntyre. They tell me to check out the lodge.  Some of the kids have worked there.

Thanks for the information.
