Hartebeest Shot in Namibia
« on: December 29, 2014, 09:52:50 AM »

Had some time over the weekend to download some of my videos from hunting in Namibia.  This clip was from the 3rd day and was a very exciting few minutes for me.  I was actually trying to get the Blesbok but he never offered a shot so I ended up taking a Red Hartebeest near the end of the clip.  I was by myself so the camera was just rolling on the ledge of the blind.

Pretty darn cool weste.

,
Man there's a lot of different critters there hey lol. You could tell they are a little leary of the water hole yet they can't resist.

I enjoyed it Thx.

They are definitely leery around the waterholes.  The Blesboks would only come in once another animal came, they would hang out out between 50-100 yards for hours until something else showed up and went to the hole first.  Fortunately the outfitter has never allowed anyone to shoot guns near the waterholes and blinds so its a great place if you want to bowhunt.  If you want to gun hunt then he does spot and stalk hunts on the ground.  Kind of cool watching these videos 5 months later.

You bet Sonny.  Everyday was new day there - never knew what might show up!!  Make sure its on your bucket list.  I know you like your guns so this is one of the outfitters guns that we played with.  30-06 with a suppressor - what a blast to shoot.  Quiet and kicked like a .22.
