Hunting Alone
« on: September 16, 2012, 03:42:17 AM »
Ya all hunt alone. I do mostly, but I also work alone, sometimes I like it like that. Use to take my son with me who was my greastest partner, but now he has his own life and job. I work the oil field my days off are sporatitic, no shift written in stone no days off written in stone, hard for a guy to make plans. I cannot commit to a hunt with my buds or with my son its just not possible, just saying its lonely out there sometimes, I got money, truck, trailer, quads, generator, extra rifles, you name it I got it,  etc. etc.

I like to hunt alone but come back to to a hunting camp with others. Weird eh?

I enjoy both styles of hunting, I enjoy the companion of other people out with Me and I also enjoy the solitaire hunts. I especially like going after whiteys by myself, much quieter.

I have hunted alone a fair bit, especially for deer, I enjoy it. Moose hunting or elk hunting it's nice to have a partner though.

I hunt for Whitetails alone fairly often. Went out for Elk this month alone was alot of fun was nice knowing I had some other members close by if i needed a hand.  Probably head out again on my own before bow season's done.

As much as I do enjoy the deer hunts alone i would never turn down the chance to hunt with one of my boys and opt to go it alone. Some things we only get so many chances at and hunting with your children would be one of them.

I prefer to hunt alone except when sheep hunting. Had pretty good scare one year and figured if anything happened out there it would be good to have some one with me. Mind you I did a successfull  solo nt sheep hunt a few years back but it was only a day trip.

I too enjoy hunting alone but my wife doesn't like it for safety reasons. Lately ( in the past few years) I've hauled a bull elk and moose out of the bush by myself, not fun and thats when a fellow appreciates a hunting partner. I've had many partners when we use to set up wall tents but still we would usually go our separate ways and meet back at camp in the evening.
