Before he started the bombings, I believe the man took every reasonable effort possible to solve the problem but received no results. I read an article somtime ago that said he wrote various letters to the oil companies stating his concerns and lobbied local politicians, still nothing was done so he took matters in his own hands.
Yes, other people could have got hurt in the crossfire but I don't think this guy would conciously go out and try to harm someone. ( Maybe the odd oil CEO if he could have gotten hold of them!  lol

I don't think that it is too far fetched that the politicians probably had their hands in the back pocket of the oil companies pockets.  Wouldn't be the first time it happend and until a person is put in that kind of position i don't think it is possible to pass judgement and im not say that you are passing judgement Tuc im simply just saying.

to address the flammable water....well thats nothing new.  lots of people around alberta have gas in their water wells.  sorry, but i dont think the oil companies put it there.  they are trying to get it out and sell it remember?  i live in medicine hat.  its called the gas city.  when this place was first settled, people began drilling for water and found gas everywhere...sometimes even on the surface seeping from the ground.  it has been described as having all hell for a basement.  this was long before anyone ever heard of shell, encana or suncor.  it is easy to point the finger and blame someone else for lifes problems though.

we may disagree on a few things but have you ever seen an oil company that makes millions of dollars a day, worry about one family whether he was crazy or not, and risk losing all that money.  Im not sure what caused all the misscarriges but if the water was good before the oil companys showed up then it went bad when they started drilling there could be a coincidence but i doubt it.  Either way i don't know all the facts but im pretty sure they could give a shit about you or me if it ever came down to the dollar signs!

Walleyes, I hear you loud and clear but it's not up to us to judge the man. No, two wrongs don't make a right and a Christian wouldn't behave the way Weibo did. Though he had a valid concern with the oil companies I suppose he could have sold his property (before all the publicity on him) and moved somewhere else. Hind site is a great thing but in my opinion that would have been a simplier way.
