Just Life
« on: March 01, 2019, 07:34:04 PM »
Because it -26 and still dropping, I was looking through a few pictures of my 2018. I thought I would just throw a few up showing  a average guy, with an average life, loving every day of it. Feel free to throw a few of your average life pictures up also.

1.Birth of our first grandchild-baby girl.
2.Friend's granddaughter couldn't get her pony into the water, started crying, so I helped
3.My big trophy hunt, yep that's it. Well I got more but no big stuff this year.
4. Me and my old guy, and daughters new pup hunting rabbits behind my house. Pup got cold so a fire and lunch was the ticket.

Loved the little red head in the first picture.

Is that water training to calm a horse in the second picture?

Fourth Picture. Look at those white whiskers on that old hound. Mind you, the dog does not look perturbed with no blanket. :)

Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks Grey, yep granddaughter is a doll alright ( Grandpa's pride showing a bit). As for the water horse she was riding, he is actually 32 years old. She rode it all day and he would do anything she asked. But at the end of the day I guess he just had enough, after the few minutes in the water her Grandpa made her feed him and put him to bed. Great old horse and I think that little girl is giving him a reason to go on. :D The old dog is 9 and still doing his thing, follows us up every mountain in Alberta and I do a lot of snowshoeing,  he is by my side every time. Hoping he goes another 9 (wishful thinking). The little pup (4 months)  loved the fire and a small feed of sausage, her first time in the bush for most of the day.

Awesome pics lever, always enjoy seeing other people enjoying life.

Our Grandchildren are huge in our life as well, seems we hardly make a move now days and we don’t make plans around them. We got news this Christmas that the 3rd will be added early August a sibling to our first 2.

The life of the modern drilling supervisor, it’s all electronics this day and age. I watch the rig through a set of 4 different cameras I can scan with, keep and eye on the drill bit and hole conditions every pressure and flick in our drilling process and it’s all electronic billing and reporting.

The other just some time out with the kids. Seems my Grandson works his way into most of my pics now when I’m out lol, papas little man.

Did get out for some lake trout a couple times.

Also this year I sold my baby, it was hard to see her going down the driveway, lots of good memories with the family made in that boat.

And theres always time for some meat off an open fire.

Thanks for the pictures Walleyes and congratulations on the news of a new member to the Clan. Love the little guy shooting the big gun, I can see why he would make a good side kick.  Nice boat, but I seen the new one and you'll be happy with it I'm sure. Hard to let go of something sometimes, funny how a piece of equipment can become more than fiberglass and medal when you have family involved. It kind of takes on a life of it's own. My work is about the same as yours now, all done with a computer. I have trucks, mobile labs, and equipment all across Canada all monitored by GPS and guys on cell phones. One thing with the modern devises though it does give me more freedom to not be in the office as much. Some days when I feel I should work with my hands again, I get on the shop floor with my guys and remember who I am, and ride the horse that brought me to the dance. And I'll add a bit more meat just in case.
