First let me say RIP Jack and my condolences to the Layton family.  No man or women deserves to die young from cancer.  His family and friends lost a Dad and a dear friend no doubt.  My heart goes out to everyone who loses a loved one.  We have all been through that in life.

Now don't get me wrong here and this has nothing to do with the man as a fellow human and I will probably get a new one ripped for saying it but I'm not going to pretend hide my thoughts.  I despised most of his socialist beliefs and his actions as a politician and still feel that today.  He vowed to take away many rights that freedoms that I would physically fight over.  I will not support the image that he was a great politician or some kind of a hero for Canadian rights or politics.  It is often human nature to heroize individuals in the public spot light upon their death.  Many heroic people pass away and are never honored as they should be.

As a man that lost his life to a terrible disease as many others have, I offer his family and friends my condolences.

I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

What I am confused about it why it's so top secret about what kind of cancer he had? It's just weird. I mean cancers that take someone so quickly are generally major organ cancers like pancreatic or liver, maybe advanced lung cancer. But why's it such a secret? Again it's just very weird.
