Well here's how I see it.
You are required to "produce" it, it doesn't say anything about allowing them into your vehicle.
Having a rifle isn't probable grounds for entry without consent. There is no crime in having a rifle. The officer shouldn't use the assumption that it might be loaded to gain entry into your vehicle. That's like a cop saying "it's possible you might have weed in your truck so I am going to search it".
