Try posting in a thread about chainsaws over at the zoo.  All the idiots will be out in seconds condemning you like you've never used a saw before.  I especially like the ones that preach safety and then show you their huge scars, like I want to take advice from them... .  Used a saw my whole life without a nic so far.  I posted a pic of my buddy holding an 088 Stihl with a 4 foot bar.  He worked for Timberland for years as a Stihl mechanic, has every Stihl certification in the book, had his own saw business, builds custom hot-saws for competition, fell trees commercially in BC, owns about 30 saws, etc.  The buffoons pounced on the pic saying the saw wasn't fit for Alberta, even though he was just test running it after a tune up.  He was wearing jeans with a rip in them from being worn out....wasn't even running the saw...omg.  That is obviously taboo over there.  Another buddy was running it wearing Carharrts.  No ear protection....omg.  I guess ear plugs don't count...lol.  That place is a zoo full of ignoramouses.

It's just to much sometimes.. I left there just over week ago and haven't posted since.. I thought I could make it work there you know just to fill the gap from here,, but no way,, I just can't do it.. You spend more time defending yourself on any statement you make than you do in any constructive discussion..  The worst part is is a guy gets drawn down to their level and you end up looking the fool..

Nah,, this place is getting enough traffic to fill the need and it's getting better. Yah we have our little dust ups,, it's bound to happen that's life,, no big deal but really the attitude and over all experience on here far exceeds the zoo.

I have had to bite my tongue so many times over there and one of these days I am going to have one too many beers and let loose on a few of those guys over there.  Of course the mods will come down on me and that would just escalate to a ban.

I would say this forum is more like a country bar, you can still stand your ground and maybe even get into the odd fight, dust yourself off and come back in for a beer with the guy.  The other place is more like the Cromdale or the Drake where you are likely to get knifed in the back and then thrown out by the bouncers.

That alley between the back door of the Cromdale and that little liquor store on 82nd was a rough place.  I am sure people have died there.
Last time I had the pleasure of being in the Cromdale I remember the bar being downstairs a few steps.  Scary place!

You know I made some comments on this thread and was called on it (privately).  After thinking about it for a couple of days, I still maintain I did not say anything that was not true or what represented how I was forced to feel.  Even an "intended to be funny metaphor' was used and it was still taken very negatively.   All I will add to this is; it just doesn't suit my style to walk on egg shells.  I don't do it real life, so I am sure as hell not going to do it on an internet forum.  I am a generally respectful poster and refrain from insulting or belittle individuals.  Everyone who has been around knows that.  That doesn't change my message about having to put up with obvious bullshit in a thread without challenging it.  That bullshit is what can make any forum a joke.  That is where the walking on egg shells crap doesn't fly.

As for the spy who screen captured this thread and tattled, you know who you are and so do I, get a life and quit trying to be such a poser.  Alberta is supposed to be rat free and you know what we do with rats.  You are not a sportsman so don't try to fake it.  You had a short life on here and are not fooling anyone.  You are not impressing anyone but yourself, trust me on that, even the "mod" wasn't overly impressed.

The owner of this site has allowed the members to self police themselves to a great extent and we really appreciate that.  There will be the odd spat but members that truly have "sportsman" blood flowing through their veins will prevail.  I will just add that there are many good people on all the forums too and that made them what they were in the first place.  Certainly not all ignoramuses, I will take that part back.
