Long Weekend Campers.
« on: May 16, 2019, 05:56:20 PM »
Any long weekend campers on the site. I’m at work so we won’t be going out, not that we would if I was home. We quit going out May long a few years ago. Funny when we had small kids we would always go out. Get snowed on, rained on lol. Now that the kids are grown we don’t go.

Does anyone have plans.

Stopped going camping on the May long weekend years ago.

Got tired of the crowds and the crappy weather.

Working until Sunday but we wouldn't be heading out camping anyways, to busy.  Generally it's yard work and BBQing for us if I'm not working.  Think we will head out fishin Monday, generally most are packing up and heading home.  Worked a pile lately, definitely ready for some days off and spending some time with the family, but not complaining either.

I hear you OL_JR, we’ve been balls deep all winter and spring as well. Been doing a 20-10 since fall. But we are dropping one rig for a bit and we are going to start to have some extra time off. I’ll be in for 17 days this hitch then doing a couple 2 weeks in and 3 off so I’m looking forward to having some extra time off this summer. Still be busy enough to make a pay check yet have some time to enjoy. What’s the point in making money and having toys and not having time to enjoy them. Going to soak up those days off that for sure.

Well we are out kind of camping I guess. Every May long is the beginning of branding so we are up in Ft Assiniboine with our living quarters horse trailer at a buddy’s ranch this weekend. Work during the day, then fire and a few drinks at night. Always a great time. Our “ camping” is always at a ranch or horse club so we don’t fight the camping crowds much.

No camping for us.  Putting in the garden and such.

One of the few May Longs where I am home instead of camping. Last couple years have been cold, wet and windy. Plus I am dealing with aged parents who can't pull their trailer anymore, have a 21 and 19 yr old who are at the age to go do their thing with friends. Wife took off to a friends cabin.

This year I have a soft spot on the floor and a leaky toilet to deal with so I will be doing some fixing my 35 yr old trailer while everyone else is away. Nice quiet weekend with the rat dog(Chihuahua)

Prefer to go out early June when the fishing ramps up a bit.

Sounds like a great shift for the summer right on.  We generally work 7 on 7 off but with a shut down happening recently it's been a lot of extra ot this first quarter.  Regular days off/work starts now and I'm ready for it.  The boy jokingly asked who I was when I walked in the door today lol.  He gets it though, work hard play hard.  Same thing as when I was doing e/i work and working a bunch, difference is now I actually have a schedule and can plan things.
