Sure seems to be alot of people that are just veiwing as guests. Be nice to see them sign up and show their support for this site and share their experiences.

Is pretty funny how all the "trouble makers" are here and the site is a pretty calm and friendly place to be. No real arguments or bashing. Kinda states something to me.

I sure find it peaceful here,, its a heck of a good feeling knowing you aren't being monitored, policed and judged all the time isn't it. I just find it funny that more aren't catching on to it yet.. It will come and all to fast the pricks will start showing up..

You know I welcome even the guys that I dont agree with on the other site. Be able to have a real discussion when both sides can say what they think and beleive. Sure there will be arguments here but that is the way things are. Goods things come out of many of these discusions.
Just because a person dosent agree with you doesnt make them wrong and doesnt make them a trouble maker just shows there are more than one side to things no matter how much you try and police it to make yourself look like you are an authority.
Just like promoting an item, if someone asks what is the best of a certain product people should be able to discuss the pro's and cons of all types not just one because they paid a few dollars to the owner.

People on this site see that they are valued and that they are important here and that is what will take this site and make it strong. Paul and the boys know that the people make a public forum and that is the right idea.

And like I said I hope the guests join and those that hide, dont. Im sure some are scared to be banned elsewhere but they shouldnt be, everyone out there have great experiences and stories to tell and all of us here would love to hear them. And I know there are many guys and gals out there that we all can learn a pile from.

Spring and summer are usually slow. That why most Trolls come out then. I'm sure come the fall alot more people will join. Even though some of us trouble makers ( man i sometimes feel like we are like the misfit toys ) are here, I do know one thing forsure.

The group of people on here, do make up a good chunk of the most viewed threads on the other forum. Plus there are some super woodsmen on here, that have put either by size or number of impressive critters down. Some people make splashs with words and stories, others by accomplishments.I know regardless of method, weapon, terrain the guys on here have slayed some amazing critters, and will continue to do so.

Another thing that would help, is not allowing guest to view pictures without joining !

Yes and when you moderate a site (any site) with an iron fist and ban it's members, I would say that hurts your business for advertising. This goes for any forum, the more popular you become the more advertisers you attract. Many advertisers frequent the sites they hire and can read what is or isn't happening on that particular forum. Some advertisers may decide to move on after their contract expires.

Anyrate, if you are in this business you need to have thick skin. Banning members for minor infractions may come back to haunt you.
E.G. I for one will never use an advertiser from the AO site and I have used many of them in the past.

To sum it up in a nut shell, never bite the hand that feedss you, without members you are NOTHING!

Building a forum takes time. So far so good though and seems pretty civil around here. We will be doing more to promote Alberta Sportsman in the near future, just very busy with a big order at work right now.

Chris and the THC crew will be promoting it at Huntfest and on their show, I may go spend a day with them there so if you are going to Huntfest be sure to come by the THC booth and meet the crew.

We are going to do more giveaways soon and do some stickers, hats etc.

The best way to build a community is to spread the word guys.

Yeah, I've heard a couple people say that the board is too slow...but if they don't join and add to the conversation, how will the forum ever grow?

the board is only slow cause its the summer time.

Wait until the fall, the board members on here are of the get er done and post pics variety. Opposed to the I know everything and then start stuiped fights variety.....That post pics of either does or what there buddies shot. JMO

I dont think thats the case , Ive been out fishing so much but tonight for first time in Awhile checked out the forums , Typical asshats on Ao , causing a shit storm . But Im not banned there . Its not like that man . They could careless . Whats wrong with a little competition .
