Been lurking around for a while wondering if this forum is for me. I too gave up on the other forum. Too hard to deal with that many idiots, especially when its the mods who were most of the problems.
 I have no problem dealing with opposing views, but if you get threatened with banning for standing up for your opinion, there's a problem.
 Looking forward to seeing this board grow. How much I contribute depends on the attitudes around here.

Well,, I just couldn't do it,, I can't stay away from this place.. It just feels like home. It's like a part of my day was missing not being able to contribute to the conversations.

To all those wondering what happened. I just got a little frustrated mostly with the whole social media thing as I found out we can be tracked on these places. It took me a while but I think I got most of that cleaned up. Not that I mind people knowing who I am but let's face it there are a lot of sick people out there and one never knows what can take place. There's more at stake here than just ourselves. I personely work away from home a lot and my wife lives at home alone for long periods of time and when you have people contact you by a text message telling you they know who you are and where you live,, it scares the crap out of you. Out of boredom a while back I ventured back to the other site for a period and as we all know they frown on honesty over there and it didn't take long and a member there took offence to some of my comments. But what ever,, that's over and gone end of conversation just thought I would give a bit of an explanation of why I left. It certainly wasn't anything to do with anyone or anything on this site.

We have a few new members here and that's awesome,, can't wait to get back into the fold..

If you don't want to be tracked just use a tor site.  Let'em track your ip addy from a different place in the world every time you log on, and never your actual addy.  It's not just in the movies.   

BTW, keeping your chipped cards in a sleeve of tinfoil in your wallet isn't tinfoil hat stuff;  those chip readers gather a lot of information you didn't agree to share with people that have no business knowing your business.

Any forum operator who would put any members personal info out there in any way is irresponsible and has no integrity. I will assure all the members here any information you provided when registering is private and your IP addresses are private, I would shut the doors here before I ever allowed anything like that to go on. That being said there are creative ways to get information about people vie the web, be cautious of what you share, where you share it, and with whom you share it, on this forum or anywhere else on the web.

I joined here a fair time ago, but because it was slow, I haven't checked in much. however, now that I stopped posting on AO due to the B.S. from both certain members and mods, I am checking in more often. As for the person recently banned from Gunnutz, it is a better forum since he was tossed, and I hope that he doesn't show up here.

Well,, if he wanted to be a positive contributor then by all means he would be welcomed,, but if he just wanted to stir the shit then there's lots of guys on here that know how to handle that lol..

Personely I always liked his comments and views on stuff,, yes he liked to stir the pot but he is a knowlagbel guy theres no way around that.

His partner on the other hand,, I don't know just something about that guy,, makes me want to punch the TV screen when he comes on,, definetly a channel changer when any of his programs come on lol..

Like flies is right.

What kills me is that they are banning folks outside of their own rules to do so.

If a mod has an axe to grind or a certain someone feels like picking up a phone and calling in a favour... the guy is banned and thats it.
Thats what happened to me... somene put their foot in their mouth... I pointed it out... and he called the Adm and that was it.
I saw the text that a buddy of mine got from the mod who did it... and it explained the whole thing.

I know one member that was banned for asking why the rules were being ignored.

On the other hand if you have friends... troll away...tis all good.

The trail is covered by deleting posts so that folks assume the guy banned went overboasrd and the search function has been altered so nobody can cassually investigate.

Pretty Orwellian over there lately.

To bad... for awhile at least it was pretty ballanced and fairly civil.

Opinions and politics asside... excluding the new/returned members that went there just to raise cain I don't think that more than 2 or 3 of the bans that have happened in the last year there were legitimate whle teflon supertrolls and hate mongers seem to be able to operate without impediment or censure.

I was there for 5 years and its just about killed the forum.

Here at least we seem to be able to disagree with one another with the understanding that it would be a pretty dull world if we were all exactly the same.
I hope this forum and that attitude thrives because I firmly believe that no matter what we view differently....we all have far more in common than not.
