You often hear people say "it was just such a fantastic event and I didn't have a camera..."
Can you describe a fantastic picture that you saw but never got a picture of for whatever reason.
I have at least two that come to mind.
It had snowed a lot of "chicken feather" flakes overnight and the next day the sky was blue and the sun was out when I went hunting. I was walking a cutline through an old burn where there was a fair number of old dead grey trees standing above the thick young pine that had grown up.
A Pieleated woodpecker flew up and landed on one of the grey snags and its red and white plumage shown in the sun. The pines were so green with white snow on them. What a scene and no camera handy.
