Please say prayers for my Dad who has had surgery to repair 3 broken vertebrae in his lumbar spine..
We recently found out he has dementia and Alzheimer disease. The road for recovery os long and has certainly have my family on pins and needles.... He is 84 years of age...He has also agreed to a dnr order.

Age is not a friendly thing always.

Thoughts too your family.

that dementia/alzheimer's disease is a pretty tough go.  Best of luck to your dad and all of his family.

We will say a prayer for your father at Mass this morning.  My MIL died as a result of Alzheimer's so we can certainly empathize with yourself & your family.  It is not an age friendly disease, indeed.  Again, all the best to your father.

   Thanks for your thoughts....
My Dad surgery has gone well. He is now walking a bit, hungry and seems to be more settled in. Our family is now working on long term care to manage his dementia.  Last monday he tried to escape from the hospital caused by wrong meds for pain.
Public health care is a nightmare to deal with.....hopefully time will help him heal....
