My laptop is possessed
« on: April 06, 2017, 05:11:38 PM »
It's true it has an evil spirit in it....Here's the deal.

At home my laptop (cheapo Acer) works just great with no issues at all.

But when I take it up to Fort Mac it also works great except it will not let me open Alberta Sportsman Forum.

I keep getting "This page can't be displayed" or "403 Forbidden... Acess to this resource on the server is denied"  :(

Then when I take it home it works great again.I thought it might be the wifi up north but I took my wife's laptop up one time and it worked good so it must be something in my laptop.

I need to get some Holy water so I can preform an exorcism. :o

btw...do you know how a priest makes holy water?

He boils the hell out of it..  ;D

2 things I would check initially Sonny.

-clear your browser cache.
-make sure your dns settings are set for automatic.
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

Every time we have take one of our PC's to a tech guy they seem to come home in worse shape than when they went in.

Google is your friend on lots of this stuff Sonny, guaranteed there's a you tube video showing what axe just recommended.

Sonny, what os?  Win7, 8 , or 10.
I will advise on the dns setup then with a video.  If it works at your home that is likely the issue

sonny, I found that at times like this you have a few big shots of Scotch(what I like anyway) then get a bigger hammer and hit any key to continue.  Sorry not much help in this department.

Well the good news is that the problem is not with my laptop but rather the problem is with the wireless adapter or access point.

No big deal..I can always lurk with my IPhone when I'm up north. ;)
