Its official Edmonton is the largest population of rednecks in North America.  Huge cities in the US don’t have two stores and two WWS.

The opening starts at 11:00 am today. Ron Fibke will be there showing off his new boat. The new store is located on manning drive in Edmonton.... :)

Big mistake they should have opened in Calgary or I think a good place for a store would be gasoline alley. Just can't see them gaining more market share with another Edmonton store, all they did was double their overhead and diluted their customer base.

I am happy that it is right near my house for the occasional item.  Mainly I do not buy from the big box stores so I will not be in there very often.

Wow.  I cant believe they opened a second one in Edmonton and haven't put one in Calgary.   Lots of rednecks in the south as well!!  lol

Yeah I dunno I just can't see Edmonton supporting 2 cabelas stores. If people really want to go to cabelas they will drive. It's not like Walmart where you have a million housewives to draw from. I think gasoline alley would have been a great place for another store, you have central Alberta to draw on as well as all the highway 2 traffic. They could be more competitive with bass pro there as well. People might drive past cross iron mills to stop at cabelas. You think lethbridge could support a cabelas Rick?

I think gasoline alley would have been the perfect place to put one too. Not sure Lethbridge would be as good an option as Red Deer, but maybe better than a second one in Edmonton. Just not sure why they did that.

So I checked out the new Cabelas today and it will be awhile before I go back.First off it's much easier for us to go to the southend store, take Anthony Henday south from #16 and badda bing we're there in ten minutes.Second it's a smaller store than the south one.
They did have a good price on sks rifles at $169 and 1320 round crate of ammo for $219. which is pretty good. ;)

Anyway on the way home we stopped in at WSS and holy smokes I don't think there was more than 10 customers in the entire store.

But I did see a real Purdy Ruger Black Hawk in .41 magnum....*drool* ;D
