New to the site
« on: January 21, 2014, 03:25:47 PM »
Found this site while poking around the 'net and am looking forward to reading input from others, as well as hopefully providing some meaningful input myself.

Late 30's, hunting/fishing most of my life, introduced to it by my Dad growing up in BC. Hunted moose and deer mostly in the Chilcotin until I moved to Alberta 8 years ago. Now hunting mostly mulies and white tail here in Southern Alberta, with a yearly trip back to the Chilcotin to hunt with family.

Shoot a .308 Savage and a 1929 .30-30 passed down from my Grand-dad.

Best of 2014 to everyone.

Welcome aboard the board.

There are some strange ducks on here but there are some straight shooters as well.

Like most everybody it seems I moved here for work. Commercial and industrial general contracting.

I have some stories from the Chilcotin I could share, like hunting and tent camping in the alpine. Love it. We have a one room log cabin with a corral and fenced quarter in prime country, except they are logging the shit out of it right now. So some nights we leave the horses and take a quad up into the local "peaks". Good moose lower near the cabin and good mulies (but super elusive) in higher ups.

I'll get together some pictures and post them.

Welcome Juan,

Good to see another moose hunter in our ranks.  I would love to see some of your pics.
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, Brother can you spare some ammo?

Juan, do that, we would love to see your camp setups and moose hunting pics. For a lot of years I set up outfitter tents in 304 and 402, was lots of fun. In those zones you had to wait a long time for a moose tag draw (bulls only) so most of our hunting was for deer and elk. I don't blame you for going back to B.C. every year to hunt moose. One of my hunting buddies is from B.C. and he too loves to hunt moose. He has told me many a good moose hunting stories from over there.

Is this section the proper area to post some pictures of hunting etc? Or should I be posting them somewhere else.
