EDMONTON - The odds just got better for those in the West wishing on a lotto windfall.
The Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) announced a new Western Max lotto available to people who live in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Territories.
"And only players from those areas," said Ken Schulzke, marketing VP for WCLC.
"Western Max is our game. No one will be able to buy a ticket in Vancouver or Toronto."
The WCLC says the game will offer Western Canadians a $2 million top prize and seven draws for $1 million prizes every Friday night starting March 1.
The odds of winning the million dollar jackpots are one in 28.6 million per day, while the odds of winning subsidiary prizes between $2 and $100,000 are one in 6.6.
The WCLC said they launched the new lotto because western players really like the Lotto Max.
