November 22/1963..

I was just a kid in grade 3 and just at the end of the school day our teacher Mr.Picard told us that John F.Kennedy had been shot.

Keep in mind that this was a rural one room school house.

Some kid in grade 7 or 8 giggled and made the pew pew pew sound. He was soon put in his place by the teacher.So....

Got home and here is mom and older sis sitting in front of the old black and white TV and they are crying and Walter Cronkite was trying to hold himself together and report the news at the same time.

I was little but I knew something really bad happened.. :(

RIP..JFK :'(

Yup....has nothing to do with hunting or fishing so mods/admins feel free to nuke this thread....my bad. :(

So why didn't you put it in "Random Stuff"/  Isn't that why you wanted such an area?

I remember it well.  I was at school too and though I knew a little about JFK and his popularity, his passing did not have a big effect on me.

Except the concept of a president being assassinated in his own country by a US citizen.

It would be a different world if that guy had not been shot his death likely saved our lives.

Sonny, I remember his death too. On the way home from school we always stopped at the local bakery. One of the cooks would give us day old donuts to take home free. This day the cook told us John Kennedy had been shot. I didn't fully understand exactly who he was but knew he was somewhat important.  WTS, as an 11 year old, I couldn't comprehend what all the fuss and commotion was about.
