Off the couch!
« on: May 01, 2013, 09:58:57 PM »
First things first nothing like a 100$ piss

Daughter’s new saddle

EMMA getting ready for the drag

Pulling wife’s 5k horse around and the family out on a beautiful day priceless

All this is basically  ready for  the wife’s and mines elk hunt this fall and besides it better than getting fat on the couch

Right on Jimmy,, love the pics. That little girl is going to be quite the hand in a few years,, well done..

And yes I think we all can't wait to get off the couch and get at it outside. I have no choice right now as I am at work for 2 weeks but have a big list for my days off all summer so I am looking forward to a busy summer.

Awesome pics! Pardon my nievety but why pull the horse lol? Was she unable to ride it so you're "walking" it like a dog on a leash or is it being stubborn? I don't own horses (sadly - yet) so I ask dumb questions. Sorry!

Its not a dumb question.  That horse I am ponying is 5 years old and has a pile of training on it and has been ridden lots.  Remus has lots of sprit but with that comes evasion and just being a young horse he likes to do what he wants sometimes.

What ponying dose is teach a horse that it is not the boss and I want to pack him this fall elk hunting.  I will take him out like this a few more times with a saddle on before going to the pack boxes he can carry the rain jackets for now.  Even if a horse is not going to be packed having the pack boxes on teachs a horse space as in not ramming your nee in a tree.

I practice natural horseman ship as much as possible

Very neat! And informative, thank you for explaining that to me :) good luck this fall on your Elk hunt. I think its wonderful to see couples hunt together! "Couples who hunt together stay together"

And, I like the concept you're practicing and natural horsemanship sounds like the best way to go. Thanks again Jimmy808, those are great pics!
