I think Maas fits right in with that list in terms of talent.  Give any of them the team in Edmonton that Maas had his success with, and they'd look just as good, surround them with the talent Maas had to work with in Hamilton and they'd look just as bad.  The same can be said for any QB really.  Maas was never the worst QB, but he was never elite either.

maas at one point in the last two seasons had a higher qb rating than ricky ray and in 2009 season actually exceeded henry burris and durant for ratings  his rein just ended because they needed ricky ray back on the feild

The real test for the Eskies will be week 4 and the Stamps.  If we can come out of this game with a win, look out Montreal!!!  Kavis is really leading this team with professionalism, and with all the changes Tillman has made, Reed has brought them together very quickly as a team.

Lemon is a horrible CFL quarterback!  If the Argo's had Maas they would be way better off!  I wonder if Mass would of wanted to go into that mess on Toronto...

that would be interesting to see actually especially a game like eskies vs argos where we would get to see ray vs maas and that would be entertaining to see. kinda like seeing the redskins vs eagles this year haha mcnabb vs vick seeing how vick damn near learnt everything he knows about eagles football from mcnabb and then schooled him at his own game

The real test for the Eskies will be week 4 and the Stamps. Chris K

if edmonton plays like they have the first 3 games......and calgary plays like they have the first 3 games......its going to be a geat day for eskimo fans!!!  like i said, calgary is 2 missed field goals from being 0-3.  their last 2 could very easily have gone the other way....and both times it was teams that really shouldnt be close.

of course, all that said, i do believe the stampeders should be a better team than what they have shown so far.  it would be nice to have a good rivalry again.  for the first half of the last decade edmonton beetch slapped em to the point it wasnt even fun.  then danny macciocca led the esks to almost a laughing stock and it went the other way.

my prediction......edmonton by 12 points.

Its going to be a good game I know that,, it better. This is going to be a good test for Edmonton and its needed its time we find out what they are made of..

I take Edmonton by 7 gained in the last 2min of the game.

B.C. will take Hamilton by 6. Two field goals by McCallum,, that guy is like fine wine he gets better with age. I actually give McCallum 12 points for the game.

Toronto handles the Bombers with ease because Pierce doesn't make the second half of the game ( again ) that poor guy is done he just doesn't know it. Toronto by 14.

Montreal makes a mockery ( like everyone else has ) out of Sask. The fans riot in the streets, burn down all the trailer parks in Sask and no one has a place to live. Marshal is given 2 games to get the house in order or he is out..

Ahh another weekend of Canadian ball..

YES, YES, YES   4 - 0..

Now I wonder if the Eskies are going to be taken serious ??

That turned out to be a good game. It was looking like it was going to be another washout by Edmonton but as usual when a team gets ahead they get a bit complacent and let the stamps offence get a couple.. 2 missed field goals and a very critical stop by the defence to put and end to it.. The first 3 quarters the Eskies defense made the Stamps look stupid,, was funnier than hell to see the fans booing old Hank,, I could listen to that all day..

Now they have Toronto at home next,, they should do well at that one,, we will see..

Only thing better than Edmonton going 4 - 0 is Sask is going to be 0 - 4 after tomorrow..

well, a win is good and its 2 points that are likely gonna matter later on......but......i really wasnt impressed with the offence tonight.  aside from a couple big plays from fred stamps, there wasnt a lot to get excited about from that side of the ball, but the defense looked solid.  there is no way id have bet on nickel on this team coming out of the west a month ago, but today......yup.

as for SUCKskatchewan......lololololololololol.  ya know, i didnt hate them 5 years ago, but after seeing their fans turn into such arseholes the last couple years, i couldnt be happier with whats going on now.  in fact, rider fans remind me a little of canuck fans lately.  thats unfortunate as i used to default to them if my guys pooped the bed in november.

Well its a good thing I don't gamble lol cause I sure missed the picks this weekend..

The most surprising win was definitely Sask over Montreal.. Sask played well. They came prepared. Loosing Calvillo cost The Al's but hey thats the game..

As much as I hate to see Sask win it is good for the league.. No body wants to watch a sport with 2 or 3 good teams and the rest just a bunch of basement dwellers picking up the crumbs.. And hey if its a team to loose may as well be from the east..

My big blue are looking good, one missed field goal away from 4-0. The only reason sask one is because my old man bet on them to lose as the sure thing and last game on his pro line. Hope we not the team to lose to B.C. Bucks on fire, just hope he doesn't get hurt with all the late hits he's been taking, bullshit already. GO BLUE

Well redranger15 your big blue won.. Not a bad game at all. The Bombers are showing some real good stuff I honestly think they have a chance at upsetting Montreal in the east,, that would be awesome. Can you write a letter to Pierce and explain to him what a slide is,, honestly that man is his own worst enemy..

Lulay just doesn't have what it takes to finish plays in a crunch,, not saying he is a bad QB just needs a bit more time in the pocket but he missed some key throws that in mind his receivers missed some key catches as well. Just typical of a team in a rut..

Hope Hamilton can hold their own against Montreal,, doubt it but if the Riders can do it anyone can do it.

Edmonton should get a win today. At home against a struggling team,, they better if they want to hold onto their credibility,, then again look what happened in Montreal last weekend.

My screaming at the TV to get down isn't working. Hope he makes it the season and we might just have a chance at the big show this year. The test will be against Montreal, can't wait.

What a squeaker vs the Argo's!  Shaw played a bad game with his kicks, but the interceptions and turnovers really cost the Argo's in the end.  The challenges really worked out well in Toronto's favour too.  I didn't agree with the call on Stamps TD getting called back, but was glad he got redemption a few short minutes later.  The Esks came out flat from the start, and thankfully woke up with a minute 30 left in the first half.  The three tries to get the ball in for the TD really changed the momentum of the game.  Hamilton wins vs Montreal too and it was an entertaining night for CFL football!

that was a really close game!!!! haha in the last 5 minutes i was really hoping bell would pass more! really help the eskies having a second string start the game haha! and he was a good qb but his accuracy was terrible! he had trouble completing screen passes ! very proud of my boys tho yet another win for the green and gold and just a couple more in a row to make some history not that tonight didn't already change things :) and i agree chris the flags and challanges really always worked against the eskies especially stamps big td that was brought back.

Pretty good weekend of ball.. In all honesty the Eskies got away with one there, not saying that Toronto played a great game but boy Edmonton didn't come to play. They got lucky on a few plays and made it happen. But thats the way it is sometimes you have to take the pretty wins with the ugly ones and in the end 5 - 0 is all that matters. They better get that O - line in shape for the Bombers next weekend or Ray will be out of the game..

Was happy for Hamilton to get a win not only for them but its good to see Montreal go down.

The game last night was entertaining hard fought game by both teams. Tough loss for the Riders at home but really,, couldn't happen to better fans..

I think if the Big Blue can put in a good game against Edm might be able to beat them. Buck needs to play the whole game. If we win I think there is a really good chance to finish first in the east. If Buck makes it.

Well that was kind of a ho hum game last night.. Not like a person didn't know the outcome of that one before it stated. Toronto actually started out quite well,, they kept it close the first half then they just didn't come out to play the second half..

Now tonight is the game its going to be a good one. I hope Reed has been working his O-line hard this week,, they will have to be on at their best. If they can get Ray the time to throw it will be an Edmonton game if not,, its not going to be pretty. Fricken Winnipeg 21 sacks in 5 games thats insane !!!

Go Eskies...
