winterpeg has been pretty consistent.  this is going to come down to how edmonton plays.  if the team from the first 3 weeks shows up, the eskimos will remain undefeated no problem.  winnepegs defence is very good, but their offence is only adequate.  if the edmonton team from the last 2 weeks shows up, edmonton gets their first loss.  the edmonton d was great in the first 3 games, but only ok in the last 2.  they will be the difference.  they need to do their job to keep the offence on the field.

It was a stinker for sure, but the first bunch of games for the season really were not much of a challenge either.  Once the real teams came out of the woodwork, then things got tough.  Loosing Stamps is a huge blow, but they can't make excuses for it and have to find ways to adapt.  The D has to stop leaving Ray to hang out to dry.

Your Bombers are kicking ars,, but you already know that don't you..

It is really good to see another team out of the east being a threat,, its getting pretty lame just watching the Al's win every year. The more competitive the league is the better. Bomber fans deserve a decent run at it, they are loyal fans and have had quite a few years of not much to cheer about so personally I hope the best for the team and their fans.

I honestly think that Winnipeg has a legitimate kick at the cup this year. Their defence is just unreal, what a power house.

That was some pretty crappy football by the eskimos last night. Didn't care what team one but I still like to watch a good game and that one sucked. Looks like Edm is going tits up.

thatll happen with ALL FOUR starting receivers on the sidelines in street clothes.  has that ever happened in the history of football?  every team deals with injuries....thats the nature of the game, but this is ridiculous.

Yep, the Riders of 2009 I think it was, plus a few more from both sides of the ball, I've never seen anything like that. Seems to be hard to keep WRs healthy, the Riders are down 2 starters right now too.

Hopefully things turn around for the Esk's this coming weekend. We should have a couple of the boys back and with some new additions with a game or two behind them lets hope we see a turn around.

I know one thing I am getting sick and tired of loosing to Calgary on labour day. With the start we had this year I was actually looking forward to the annual match up this year but the way things have been going for us the last while,, I don't know could be a tough one.. Oh well could be worse could just have hockey to watch lol..

Here's to another great weekend of ball.

Not as well as my Riders.  ;D

They just need to string together a few more Ws and get into the playoffs, and then, lookout!

Edmonton played a real strong game last night very strong. They came out and dominated form the get go it was good to see. Stamps and Messum had outstanding games its good to see a bit of jump in their step again.

Now we just need B.C. to win tonight and the west race will be back on track. Should make for a fantastic finish to the regular season.

Did I mention that the wife bought us plane tickets and game tickets to the Vanier and Grey Cups this year in B.C.. Its going to be awesome. This will be my first Grey Cup so I am quite excited. Only problem is I doubt I will be able to take time off for Whitetail hunting and the Grey Cup so I will have to just sneak in some deer hunting days here and there don't want to miss the cup after the wife went through all the planning on getting us tickets..

lets start in the west.

bc is on a roll for sure, but i still have no faith in lulay as a dependable qb in a big game. history is against them as well. they have a cnace to come out of the west, but i would not bet on them in the big game.

calgary is going into commonwealth. thats a recipe for disaster for any team, especially in november. edmontons stingy defense will not give up points easy, and taint at the helm hasnt got enough experience to count on. he will be good for years to come....just not yet.

edmonton has shown too much inconcsistency this year. tillman is a genius in putting together a team that finished tied for first overall in one year. these guys are all rookies for crap sake...except for the proven qb in ray. they should roll over calgary, but blowing game 17 in bc with a poor first quarter will haunt them. they will lose in bc. they have shown that when they are on, nobody can keep up, but when they suck they excel at it. this team is going to be the class of the league for the next 5 years.

suckscratchmeone is not playing this november. they are back to their rightful place in the basement. maybe will be able to stomach rider fans again. until they find a qb to build around, they wil remain on the bottom looking up.

winterpeg showed some flashes of brilliance early, but unless something very bad happens to calvillo in the east semi, they will get to play one more game. pierce has shown the heart of a lion, but the skills of a mediocre qb. he isnt good enough for this team to succeed. best bet for team blue is to snare burris while he has a good year or two left. they have a shot of coming out of the east next year. well they will anyway if calvillo hangs em up this year.

toronto has two of the most exciting players in this league in chad owens and cory boyd. its hard to imagine what the numbers would be from those guys if they got to play alongside some talent. two guys doesnt make a football team though, and these guys are going to suck well into the foreseeable future.

hamilton is mediocre at best with a mediocre qb and mediocre receivers. they have no hope against montreal, and not much to look forward to next year unless AC quits. if that happens, montreal could end up 3rd next season.

montreal is the class of the east....and because of calvillo, the league. the guy has never been much of an athlete in comparison to some of the other guys, but what he brings to the game is intelligence and understanding of the game that i have never seen before. he rarely makes a physical mistake, and nearly never makes a mental one. that sharpness in the heat of the moment is what has set him above all others for so long. im so glad i got to witness what he has done n the cfl. i suspect ill be telling my grandkids about him and the things i saw. pringle is another, and even though stegalls record will fall next year....he is better than simon could hope to be...and with more class doing it. remeber stegall never had a good qb throwing him the ball.

anyway, montreal will steamroll the ticats, and old AC will show his character dismantling the bombers. they will be out for revenge against most likely bc in the grey cup. i have no explanation at all for last weeks game, but it will not be repeated.

thats what my gut says anyway......but my heart says GO ESKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Not much to add to what ISB has said,, I think he has it pretty much nailed..

I hope the right Eskimo's team shows up tomorrow and takes it home.

We are first and foremost Eskie fans through and through but the Lions are our second choice always and BC being our second home looks like we will be happy either way this year at the grey Cup.. Its going to be awesome under the new dome,, football in november in a t-shirt,,, priceless..

what the hell got into kevin glenn?  that was the game of his career right there.  the esks, lions and bombers all got a gift from that.

i really dont think the esks played all that well.  the defence was great, but the offence was only adequate.  that may be all that was needed to beat calgary, but it wont be enough this coming sunday.  i hope they get it figured out and bring their A game though, because i really think the grey cup champ will come out of the west now.

Riders are looking very strong this year, I would say better than they have looked for a good many years. This is not just based on their wins either they honestly have a very strong team, they are going to be the team to beat in the west, with B.C. close behind. Unfortunately my Eskies will finnish about .500 and just won't have the talent to finnish off, unless they actually grab on to a pivot that can throw. How Steven Jyles is considered a starting QB I will never know, this guy sucks man. In the east I think Hamilton will come around if Burris can mold with the team, thats IF he can get his head out of his ass and be a team player and not the team hotshot. Don't think A.C. will finish the season he is really showing his age and the pain is obviously getting to him. I say he sits on the side lines after mid season and Montreal gets taken out in the east final.

Oh did I mention,,, Jyles "SUCKS"

dear eric tillman,

you have had a fantastic track record for putting together talented football players. everywhere you have been success has followed. you seem to find the diamonds in the rough, and this time is no exception in giving hugh charles a new lease on life, and the gems put forth in raw rookies last year with jc sherrit and this year with joe burnett.

you have assembled the strongest defence in the league. they lead in nearly every category, and have even managed to outscore your offence. 3 wins so far can be directly attributed to the stinginess of the points they allow, and even more to the points they score.....but how long can that last?

nobody can understand how you have twice now traded for jyles. he has been kicking around this league long enough that if there was anything good, there would have been evidence of it by now. he has sucked royally everywhere he has been and last night was no exception. you saw that the eskimos had the ball FOUR EFFIN TIMES on the 12 YARD LINE........yet failed to score a major every single time right? to do that and expect to win is foolish. to play in this pass driven league without a talented QB is a recipe for failure.

please please mr tillman.....bring in a quarterback. many thought when you gave ray away that there was a reason. many were waiting for the bombshell announcement that you somehow stole a guy from somewhere else. when the announcement didnt come, some lost faith, but others still hold out hope that you have an ace up your sleeve and possibly have a tip on a guy who isnt going to make it in the nfl and will be released by late august to come and save the day. no one really cares where he comes from.....just THAT he comes.

please mr tillman, all the pieces are in place......the most feared defence in the league.....proven receivers in stamps and bowman.....huge rookie talent in burnett and chambers.......even a kicker who seems capable of doing his job even under pressure. with the amazing talent largely coming from very young players, this team has all the makings of a dynasty.....BUT THEY NEED A QB. please dont let us down.

sincerely,

eskimo fans everywhere.

Right on bambi,, couldnt say it any better.

Its got to make them think no,, I mean when your defence out scores your offence like come on man..
