Old Alberta Hunting Regulations neat find
« on: June 16, 2012, 09:55:08 PM »
So I am cleaning out my dads place and I came across old hunting regulations from 1971 and 1973 pretty neat they are just a simple fold out like a map and very basic information, and no advertising at all. I also came across some old fold out brochures about Alberta flora and fauna printed in 1969. Each pamphlet talks about all the species of Alberta.

Pretty cool find Paul!!!

I can see needing advertising now in regs to help with costs but it sure bugs me seeing writers getting stories written up in there unless they are donating the entries and not getting paid in any way.

I started hunting in the late 60's and I remember those old piano regs. They had them back home too and later went to the small booklet 4x6 I believe.

Pretty cool find for sure.  I remember reading those years ago, they certainly were ahead of my day having a licenese but Dad had them around. I remember when I started hunting big game all northern A.B was known as Big Game Zone 1. It was the same zone right accross the province pretty much from LLB all the way west just north of GP if I remember right. I recall back in the 70's when Dad would buy a moose tag he got 2 tags could be for either sex. Then it went to one tag for either then into just 1 for bulls and cow on draw. Yup we ate a lot of moose meat in those days. Then as us boys grew up there was no shrtage of tags for us.

Hay Paul you forgot to show them to me are they still there ?
You can get a good look at a steak by sticking your head up a cows ass or you could just take the butchers word for it

Yeah I didn't find them until after that day you were there helping clean up the place. They are still at my dads.

Very nice, thanks for posting.  Looks like the Prohibitions was only a few inches long.  How did we ever survive? :D

Any chance you could scan those somehow?  I'd love to read them again.  Used to be able to buy a Grizzly tag then, too.  I should've taken it seriously at the time....
