Positive improvements to Alberta
« on: May 14, 2015, 08:24:48 AM »
I know the whiners will rant and complain, but I am wondering what you are hoping to see improved in our province.
With the dictatorship gone, we now have a chance to fix a few things. I have seen what is happening to the lower income people and the common workers first hand. I went from making great money, with a career that was going somewhere; to having to be on welfare. All in a matter of months.
I am hoping that WCB gets investigated for how its dumping injured workers onto t provincial tax payers. They have been doing this for decades, and pocketing the employers payments.
The Social Services workers get injured workers added to their caseloads daily. We as taxpayers, are paying to support and rehabilitate them while the WCB case management gets bonuses for saving WCB money.
WCB employees still get all the gold plated benefits from the 70's.
I personally owe Social Services over $100000. If I ever get anything for wage loss and damages from the crooked buggers.
The case manager I got screwed by took words out of context, made up his own version of the doctor's report. Then he his all my requests for appeal. Guess what! The RCMP won't investigate them for fraud, the former government wouldn't do anything and my MLA didn't care. If you paid any attention to the PC's way of dealing with this issue, you will know that WCB works just perfect.

Now I hope that WCB eventually gets cleaned up. Enough raping the pockets of the employers and injured workers. We shouldn't end up feeding our kids roadkill to survive after a workplace injury.

Oh I'm sure the hand outs will be coming in buckets,, your dream of a welfare state is at hand..

Personely I would like to see tougher rules on social services and people that take advantage of welfare programs. Far to many people think once they are injured the world owes them a living and give up.

I recently worked with a fellow for a couple years that had two prosthetic limbs from both knees down, lost both of his legs in a hunting accident. That man had more drive than anybody I have ever seen. If you could emagine he was a driller on the rigs when he lost his limbs, worked on the big triples. In total that man never took off a complete year and was back at work, walked up and down those stairs multiple times a day, never went to no one for a hand out. Worked his way up to drilling consultant that's when I started to work a long side him. Never had a grudge never blinked an eye,, that's what life dealt him he just shrugged it off and kept on.

You know,, just sayin is all..

Isn't it sad when you see a post that just screams mental health issues.......
Dude, your IQ seems to be dragging down there with your knuckles. If you insist on making ypursel look stupid, here's a thought. Read my other posts. I didn't have a party to vote for. Stated that earlier. Your delusions are really starting to show. Hope you seek treatment and get some help. Your family must be suffering from dealing with you.

It is truly unfortunate that you have not sat around a campfire with Walleyes and his immediate family, as well as his brothers & sister.  I have known his family, including his parents for 30 yrs.  Some of the most upstanding, not to mention generous citizens of any community that you could find anywhere.  Leave political differences aside, or go back to the "political forum".  We all have political beliefs, not necessarily of the same stripe, thus condemnation is not a requirement.

It is seriously good idea guys.   :)
A little get together around a camp fire.
One stipulation though...Sonny must come.
We might have to wait for some rain first though.

Yah absolutely,, lots of room around my place.. No shortage of wood or room. We can  plug in a few trailers if need be set up the wall tents, what ever. We've got 70 acres out here,, 50 open,, lots of room.. Bring up a few boats we will have the Alberta Sportman 1st Annual Lake Trout Tournament, hey,, be a blast.. Just have to time it with my work schedule should have the summer one out soon.. July sometime would be awesome..

Walleyes, this would be fun and I know me and my wife could likely make it.  Would bring a trailer.
Perhaps we should start a thread on to see if there is enough interest from people on here to make it happen.
It is your place so make a thread if you think it is a worthy idea.  I would be in likely for sure.

OK I will start a thread. I will wait for a week or so until my new schedule comes out and then start throwing some dates out there,, we will see how it goes. I know Aug is toast for me as that's when I head to the coast for 2 weeks and our son graduates the last weekend in June so we are tied up then. So it has to be in July sometime.. Let's wait and see what the schedule looks like. If not this year we will get on it sooner next,, but hopefully we can make it work for most everyone..

Well I work six on six off with my first and last days being traveling days.

That leaves me with four days but they don't always fall on a weekend.

But hey....throw some dates out there and let's see what happens... ;)
