Random Picture Thread
« on: May 11, 2011, 07:24:38 PM »
I always have my camera with me, and I have been shooting a Canon Digital SLR for years.  You just never know when or where there will be something of interest to shoot.  You can put up 4 pictures at a time here, so if you are going to join this thread, put up 4 pics of yours you like the most and want to share.

Pic 1 - Barry sitting in the ice in the dark and he is being lit by a Mr.Heater while icefishing.  The orange glow in this pic was awesome, and I had to have him sit perfectly still for a while as I slowed down the shutter speed so the pic would work out.

2 - The dock @ Tamarach Lodge on Lake Winnebigoshish in Minnesota early in the morning.  The dock was lit by a big pole light on one side, so I used that light and slowed down the shutter speed to capture the fog in the distance.  I framed the pic so the light pole was just out of the frame.

3 - Old Kinuso Bridge.  I like old bridges because they have a ton of character.  The truck in the background on the gravel road was an added bonus to the shot.

4 - On the Cumberland River in Tennessee, taking photographs after visiting the Triton Boats plant in Ashland City.  I had a photograph from this shoot used in the inside of the front cover of In-Fisherman Magazine.

Ahhh the old Kinuso bridge, I saw a jawdropping 6x6 buck by that bridge last year, but that's another story...

Well I'll start mine off with some wildlife shots...These photos were all taken in the Crowsnest Pass...In the Lees Lake sunset photo, that is a pelican in the sky getting ready to come in for a landing...If you look at the bird feeder you will see Pine Siskins, 1 House Finch and the Baltimore Oriole which is really rare to see in the mountains...

I got a million of 'em here's a few. My best friend Mo and his Salmon. Me fighting a very big shark in Florida. My Tarpon in Florida. Me with a nice Walley at the Vanity weight station, I'm hugging that fish so I don't drop it in back in the water.

Badback - nice pictures, I've spent a few hours on Lee Lake and on a calm evening, there are few other places that I would rather be. Were the turtles on Lee Lake? I used to see them there many years ago but haven't seen any since. Cheers, Mike

Hi Mike:

I first noticed them about 4 years ago on the SW side of the lake near the lake front cabins...I have also seen them on the island a few times and they were still there last year....

Thanks for the reply Badback! Great to see them again. If I get the belly boat out there this year I will keep my eyes open for them. There were at least a couple of pairs of bald eagles on the east end of the main lake last year and it was pretty amazing to watch. I hear the lake will be a lot higher this year... about time!

Some really great pics here.  Thanks to all for sharing.

I'm going to have to do some digging and see what I can find.
