Lol,, good one huntress,, you laugh but that will be me come May long lol..

Happy birthday young lady,, enjoy your day..

I wouldn't put it past you for two seconds my friend!!! LOL that's why I thought of you!!!

Thanks very much to all of you, its been a great day. I forego the shooting after dinner, turned in the camo and plaid for a dress and took off into town for a "muff diver" and a few drinks with my neighbour/friend LOL. Lasted 3hrs (I'm an animal) in public, that was enough for me and I remembered why I don't frequent drinking establishments and prefer my simple life in the country with my animals lol. I hear 30 is the new 20 anyways....right lol?

For the rare time anyone ever sees me as a "girl" and not in real tree, carhartt or coveralls, I've attached evidence that I can actually be feminine lol. Hey, you only turn 30 once ;)

Oh, David :) I'm dying to be a camp cook. As much as I fully detest long weekend camping, I'm seriously dying to get out soon...it doesn have to be a weekend. But now I can't swing an axe or fell a tree and buck it up for at least 5 weeks...and I can't wait that long. And as for me hunting ANYTHING or anyone for that matter, in Southern Alberta it just aint gonna happen. I am aiming to move up North after the harvest (but before hunting season).

Thanks Axe! That's a purdy cake ya got there :)

Wanna see the cake of my dreams??? Is it wrong of me to want to get married just so I can have this camo cake lol? Jk

You aren't married yet?

Do you at least have a significant other?

If not how did you slip through the cracks?

Most outdoorsmen would love to have a gf/fiance/wife that enjoys being out fishing or hunting with them.

Happy belated birthday.

Nope not married and no significant other (anymore)...not for lack of trying I'm just picky. Came close....but the hopeless romantic in me didn't think he was "Mr.Right" and I want a family and I don't believe in divorce so a girl's gotta be sure LOL! You'd be surprised how hard it is to find a SINGLE bushman/fisher/hunter.

Not a lot of "manly" men left out there...and so I'm done with city guys. Those aren't men. And they're almost all threatened by girls who shoot, fish, hunt, winter camp, who lives alone in the country and doesn't need a man around. They say they like it, but it takes a strong man to be with a strong woman ya know what I mean?

Besides, I'm looking to re-locate somewhere I won't get Chinook migraines, so likely heading North before Fall. Been looking in SK and Northern AB.  I want to work towards getting my guiding designation and/or open a Bed & Breakfast, which caters to hunters/guides/outfitters in the off-season. Then I can have the best of both worlds (hunting and cooking for people lol)

Either way, thanks for the birthday greetings :)

Elizabeth

Hahah just picken at ya must be bored.  I live in the city cause that is where the family, job etc are.  But im a country boy at heart I hit the city limits every chance I get.  You couldn't drag me to a night club.  My bar is the back yard fire pit.

I don't think city guys are bad people, they just don't have the country smarts. I've seen the best (and worst) of both worlds and I find folks born and raised in the cities are a different breed. Two different life styles produce two different peoiple. I personally believe country folk are hands on people and learn several different trades in order to survive. I suppose bills are expensive if you had to call in a mechanic everytime your farm machinery broke down (E.G.) so country folk have a opportunity to learn much more than city folk. I find some city people are dumber than nails and have most things handed to them, the only things they seem to know are job related and don't really have an interest or opportunity in learning anything else.

I was born and raised in the country and never seen the big silly until I was 30 years old. I had to go there for work and I hated every minute of it. I always said I was going back to the country and after 25 years in the zoo I have returned to my dream. This has been my observation of the two different life styles.

Of course you get the city people who long to live in the country but have to be there due to their work, I feel sorry for those types, they probably feel trapped and have to live in an environment they don't like in order to pay the bills.

Tuc I definetly agree with you about some of the city guys those would be the one's I do not associate with.  I grew up as a military brat in Germany so hands on is all i know.  I live in the city now and I agree I would perfer to be in country.  My work is here so that is where I stay.  That being said I don't feel trapped I own my truck, i own my house and have a big enough back yard.  Whenever I want I hit the city limits to the bush which is always lol.  My plan is to eventually buy land outside the city and when the time is right I will move out of the city.  I have no patience for the non hands on city folk.

Signed

A city boy by location only  ;D

I hear you Sporthunting, I suppose land outside the big centres is quite expensive now. Just a heads up, you can still buy a 1/4 section in Sask for a reasonable price. Sask seems to be following Alberta though, property is on the rise and 'cheap' will be a thing of the past here.

Anyrate, good luck on your future ventures!
