Chainsaw Safety!

I know, I know, I saw it right away too....

No safety glasses or hearing protection.

And I caught something else that is really important:

He has no gloves on.

Axe, back in the early 70's I cut (chord) pulp wood for a living (for about 5 years) and sold to the Mersey Paper Plant. Safety wasn't as big a concern as it is today and we operated with no safety gear at all. The safety gloves and chaps were just coming out and none of us could really afford them, so we didn't buy. We were paid by the chord and if there were rainy days we didn't work. Cheque's were small some weeks...

Anyrate, I seen some nasty cuts and drove a few guys out of the bush to the hospital. Knock on wood, I suffered no accidents or cuts myself. WTS, today I do suffer some hearing loss and have Tinnitus in my left ear. Combine with shooting without ear protection too (I wear it today) I have paid the price with my hearing loss and the constant ringing in my ear.
