I don't know what's happening Walleyes but musicians are dropping like flies lately..

You know life can be pretty fragile if you think of it.

One day you're doing your thing while whistling Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah...

The next day you're flat on your back staring the Grim Reaper in the eye..

Yup two days in the ICU at the UofA and then five days here in the Hinton hospital.I was told that the Ambulance ride to the city was almost a one way trip.But the great team at the UofA kicked that Reaper right where it hurts and got me on the road to recovery from that nasty Bacterial pneumonia..

No this isn't a pity party for old sonny but rather a reminder to myself (and others) to spend less time on the couch and more time in the great outdoors..

And maybe just maybe exercise a bit even if it's just going for a walk..

Sonny, you have got it right, each day is a gift. Two years ago I had a horse come over on top of me, broke my pelvis up pretty bad. Anyway after the doc got it plated up and duct taped, I was home for two days and infection set in. They had a hell of a time trying to get that out of my system. Doc told my wife one night to prepare for life without me. Well two years now, I'm back on a horse, hunting, fishing and snowshoeing. I hurt most of the time because they could only repair so much, but I live each day as hard as I can. So keep up the fight, and keep off the couch everyone. Live is good.

Or do I have to shell out big bucks and get one from the states?

Retired to old Sunfire and picked up a new 2016 Chev Cruze.I like it and it should be a good little car to commute back and forth to For Mac.
It just has a little 1.4L engine but when the turbo kicks in it feels like you have a small block V8 under the hood.

Still lots to learn about all this OnStar stuff but so far so good.

There's more to the story..

A week ago Saturday we went to a Honda dealer and no I won't mention the name but..

We took a Civic for a test drive and wifey and I both liked it very much.We said we'd take it.

I put a $1000 down on it with my debit card just to hold it until the following Monday.

Monday morning we showed up at the dealer with insurance pink slip in one hand and a certified check for the balance in the other hand....This is what happened..

Dealer: Sorry but you can't take the car home today.
Me: Why not?
Dealer: We just got a notice that there is a recall on the Civic.
Me: Why?
Dealer: It's something about a piston clip or something.
Me: Well how long will it take to fix?
Dealer: Not sure but we can give you another car to drive in the meanwhile.

This is where I get a funny feeling in my gut and I look at wifey and she has the same look as me.She's looking at me and ever so slightly is shaking her head no.
I tell the dealer that this is a bad Omen and that we no longer want the car.He is not happy but gives us our deposit back.

Folks you have to go by your gut instincts and if it don't feel right then don't do it.

Long story short....We drove back to Hinton and got a very good deal on this Chev Cruze at Hinton Stetson GM..

Sure this isn't a big fancy car but that's not what we need at this point in time.We need something that will reliably haul my arse back and forth to Da Mac for the next two years.

Then I foresee a new 4X4 for retirement..
