Got that movie downloading, thanks!

So after about a 30 yr hiatus I took up the guitar again last summer. Frustrating for awhile but it came back really pretty quick. Now with youtube literally any song you want to learn you can watch someone play it, or even find a lesson for it. Been breezing right along on the 6 and 12 string in different tunings(lot's of really nice guitars being firesaled on kijiji these days), singing's even coming along (not great, but better than last summer).

So I buy myself a dobro for playing slide blues, quickly learned a few basic songs like rollin and tumblin.......then hit a wall, (plateau), so retuned it, learned some skip james and malcolm macdowell (their easier stuff) and stuck mostly to the 6 and 12 strings hoping to improve and go back to the slide.

Finally figured it's time, tried to learn this:

Granted, he was the king of the slide blues in G tuning, but honestly I don't know if I'll ever get close enough to there to play it respectably........

Sorry for the little rant, just been getting pretty frustrated with this plateau I can't seem to get over and beginning to think that's as good as I'll get with it(which really isn't very good)........

Then this morning I found this simpler version this gentleman put together; and I think with some effort over a couple weeks I can get this version down. Gotta love youtube.

I ain't gonna ever play like johnny winter, but with some work I can play a recognizable version.

Point being, always keep looking for a ray of sunshine.

Head down ass up, always gets the bird. I'm no guitar player but that has always worked out for me with most things in life. Looking forward to the video on here when you geter it licked.

I was really surprised her next fight was a title shot, guess her name as a ticket seller decided that. They should have had her fight about the number 8 or 10 seed, then she may have been able to compete.

Just where are these "wallet grabbers" hanging around? Are they hitting the traffic off of Hwy 16 or trying to nickel and dime the back streets of Hinton like they do in and around Edmonton?

Do they still have the Town Cops in Hinton? Or did you get nailed by a RCMP/GRC? In Alberta the GRC stands for "Gravel Road Cop"?

They are trying to get the skiers coming and going from Jasper. And they are travelling through Hinton. Ka Ching. But going after local talent with just a warning. Bad community relations on their part.

The DVD arrived last week and I got to watch the movie last night.

Good grief what a waste of time and money.

There were a couple of good battle scenes but 90% of the movie was boring as all hell... yawn.

Movies are so poorly done these days, all Hollywood and no good story. I gave up on them, don't even know any of the new actors names.

Finally skimmed through it, loved the scene where the girl dug the mosin out of the dirt and started firing. Like the old saying/joke, "to work without fail a mosin should be cleaned at least once every 2 or 3 wars".

Home for a few days off, 9 to be exact. We are into a 20 & 10 for the winter. Darn I was looking forward to getting out and trying the new ice auger but gee whiz man forecast doesn't look good. I might have to braves it at least once and head out. Have to get the quad rigged up for ice fishing season again. There's a little lake over the border in Sask I have been waiting to try, looks like it might be a good little Perch lake. Have a couple projects in the shop to keep me busy while I wait for it to warm a little. We will see.

I hear ya, was going to go after wolfs this weekend but it's a might cold to be sitting around waiting. Maybe the weekend after. Suppose to warm up then. Might take a small walk and look for a few grouse before the season shuts down though. Hope you get a few days at the pond walleyes.

Well Fonda did fly over and was horrified and what she saw. Maybe the shinny pony is taken advise from that dry up old prune. Unlike what he wants to do to the oil sands, I like to terminate him immediately.

Holy crappola no one has crates of Russian surplus 7.62 x 54r ammo.

Went to P&D and picked up 400 rounds of Czech surplus circa 1967 tho.I've never tried this stuff before but it's made by Sellier & Bellot so it should be good stuff.Guess we'll find out.

Look at the headstamp. Made in China at factory 61 in 1967.

Can't return ammo but I will be giving P&D a call tomorrow..
